CEC IELTS Score 5.5

Dear All,

I have 3.5 years of QA tester Canadian Experience and curruntely holding Work Permit with Role (Systems Tester (2283 - NOC - B)) from last 1.5 years. I had Work Permit with Role (Comp analysts and Consultant (2171) NOC - A) and working as QA Tester.

I wrote IELTS exam and got 5.5 score in all module. Am I eligible for applying Canada PR under 2283 or do I need to write exam again??

If I apply Canada PR under 2283,Will I get PR now?

Short answer - yes.

Your language test results must be good enough for every occupation that you intend to count toward the 12 month requirement. It looks like you meet that requirement with your experience in NOC 2283 alone, and you don't need to include your experience in NOC 2171.

NOC 2171 is skill level A.
NOC 2283 is skill level B.

Skill level A requires CLB 7 or higher, meaning IELTS scores of 6.0 or higher in each of the four abilities.
Skill level B requires CLB 5 or higher, meaning IELTS scores of 5.0 for listening, writing, and speaking, and 4.0 in reading.

Therefore, your IELTS scores are good enough for NOC 2283, but not NOC 2171.

Yeah IELTS 5.5 in all modules is good enough for NOC B.

Thanks all for your reply. I will proceed to apply PR under 2283 and score 5.5.

How much time will take to get the update from CIC whether they accepted my application under 2283 and score.

If they reject when will I be notified?

Hi,

This IELTS score is not applicable for you. For CEC, it is minimum 6 for all modules. There is something confusing on website and my friend applied for 5.5 and he is denied so I will recommend you to give the exam.

Also, I may be wrong but if you came here on 2171 then your LMO case will be accordingly the same. Applying with 2283 might give you problem.

If you gained your skilled work experience in Canada in a NOC 0/A job, you must meet the minimum level of CLB 7 in either English or French for all four language abilities.

If you gained your skilled work experience in Canada in a NOC B job, you must meet the minimum level of CLB 5 in either English or French for all four language abilities.

Also, I may be wrong but if you came here on 2171 then your LMO case will be accordingly the same. Applying with 2283 might give you problem.

Yeah.. I am wrong on this then. Depends on what LMO is there and then IELTS score will be justified.

If I apply with score 5.5, will I get canada PR or not.

There are many factors to determine if your application will be approved or not. All we can tell you is your IELTS score is eligible for NOC B (2283). You may still get rejected if your job reference letter does not match NOC 2283 duties, or your 1.5 year experience cannot be substantially verified, or your security check/medical results have problems. There's no simple yes/no answer...

Ielts score of 5.5 is just an eligibility factor for your application to be considered complete and to accept for further processing. Good Luck

I am on the same sailing boat.I am here in Canada on closed LMIA Skill level NOC B-6211 Retail sales Supervisor.what would be the language requirement to apply under CEC .My consultant said I need to score at least Clb 7 in all modules in language test.But I read on website it says clb 5.I am really confused what is the score requirement.
