@westcoastaccountantI have been thinking about going to the border but I read somewhere that when you go to the US side and tell them you’re landing they give you an administrative rejection stamp and I don’t want that to affect my future USA trips so I’m confused.
I’m in Ottawa and I have heard the Ottawa office has an option of walk in on every 2nd and 4th Tuesday and it’s a very easy process... So maybe I’ll just do that!
What about you? IRCC appointment times can be long, from what I have heard.
That is wrong information! You can go without any problem to the US border for the landing. When you go there because of the landing or to get a new Visa(which i did), the US agent will check you and you will tell him, that you are doing a flagpole for your the Permanent Residence landing.
Your will be doing what they call a flagpole. Which means that you got out of Canada, you are in the US, you are in the US border but you don`t intend to actual get inside the US. You are returning to Canada.
I did that twice on my process, one for the PGWP and one to renew my WP.
That will not interfere with your Visa renewal.
