I have been thinking about going to the border but I read somewhere that when you go to the US side and tell them you’re landing they give you an administrative rejection stamp and I don’t want that to affect my future USA trips so I’m confused.

I’m in Ottawa and I have heard the Ottawa office has an option of walk in on every 2nd and 4th Tuesday and it’s a very easy process... So maybe I’ll just do that!

What about you? IRCC appointment times can be long, from what I have heard.

That is wrong information! You can go without any problem to the US border for the landing. When you go there because of the landing or to get a new Visa(which i did), the US agent will check you and you will tell him, that you are doing a flagpole for your the Permanent Residence landing.
Your will be doing what they call a flagpole. Which means that you got out of Canada, you are in the US, you are in the US border but you don`t intend to actual get inside the US. You are returning to Canada.
I did that twice on my process, one for the PGWP and one to renew my WP.
That will not interfere with your Visa renewal.

Also, they don`t stamp your passport when you do a Flagpole. You get a paper that you show to the Canadian agent when you get back.
And that is NOT a refusal. ;)

Damn! Lucky you to be in Ottawa. I've heard that too that you can walk in in the Ottawa office every 2nd and 4th Tuesday!:)

I'm thinking of going the IRCC appointment route. I'm in Vancouver and I've heard it can take well over a month to hear back about an appointment. But then, I've read about how people don't get to do their landing at the border because CBSA refuses for whatever reason.

I'm paranoid lol. My COPR is valid until end of November so I might just ask for an appointment inland :D

All my friends did the Landing at Peace Arch, close to White Rocks. No problem! You just need to pick i big border crossing. And also don`t go there in "rush hour" when they are super crazy busy! Like a friday afternoon, just be smart about the time you pick! As soon as i get my PPR (hopefully soon) and the CoPR, I will be doing my landing there! ;)

You know, I've considered doing my landing at Peace Arch.;) Do you know if there is any way to get to Peace Arch from White Rock that doesn't involve driving? Is there any public transit that gets close to the border?

I need my PPR like yesterday! This wait is so freaky hard! But i still have 30 days before my processing time ends! Fingers cross over here! I can`t stop thinking about a guy from this list that got the PPR email 04 days before the 06 months processing time ended! We can still hope! ;)

I research that but at the time my boyfriend end up driving me. I cross walking and by myself, he waited in Canada while i did everything.
There is a bus the goes closeish....but you will have to be prepare for a good walk. You can rent a car and leave on the tourist center(Canada), this way you don`t need to cross the border with a car, you can just walk.
In the end of the day is a pain in the butt, is going to be a long day regardless, but is for an amazing reason!!!!!
Honest, i would go to Peach Arch regardless of the walk, time or another reason.....at this point i don`t have energy to wait like 03 months to schedule a landing interview.....but that is just me. Good luck!!! Share your experience after!
