They mentioned clearly in email that If I need visa to enter Canada, I have to send original passport, otherwise, no need send it original and just copies are enough.

Ooooooh. That makes sense. I am not from a visa exempt country but I am physically in Canada. Are you currently in Canada? I wonder if you need a visa just to land if you are physically here? I plan on walking across the border. If I need a visa to do that jeez.......

I got Passport request today. Got so fast after medical. ;D ;D

Application received : Aug 22, 2014
AOR : Dec 17, 2014
RPRF fee wrong mail and paid on same day : Jan 18, 2016
Request for PCC : Feb 1, 2016
Medicals request : Feb 25, 2016
Medicals done : Mar 1, 2016
Passport request : Mar 10, 2016

timeline:
file received: 28th AUG
AOR: Jan 8th
upfront meds and upfront RPRF in JAN
RCMP req: feb 17 2016
RCMP submitted: Mar 1st
PPR: Mar 10th

Please note that if you are holder(s) of passport(s) from countries which require visa to enter Canada AND permanent resident(s) of the U.S.A. OR currently in Canada with valid temporary residence visa(s), you are still required to submit your passport(s).

You still need to send your passport !!

Congrats!! When did you submit your PCC's?

Submitted PCC on Feb 3, 2016 and its 2 days after they requested. After wrong RPRF mail, I realized application is moving and applied for PCC immediately.

Hay Anyone done RCMP twice ? I sent mine on Feb 16th, it seems CIC must have received max on Feb 26th. Its been long time, they dont acknowledge they have it still.

Planning to do it from a different agency as the one I did was at a fingerprinting centre where the guy looked completely lost.

If anyone has done it twice , plz leme knw, if its ok to do it or would it confuse CIC in case they receive both the prints.

The most awaited day has finally come !!!

Got RPRF request on 03 Mar 16, paid the same day and notified them immediately.

Guess what, today i have received the "Ready for Visa" email today. I am planning to send the passports in a day or two.

My ECAS status still reflects as In progress only.

Wish everyone of us a good luck and days are not so far.

Yes ,may b...bcs all who receive MR or rprf requests get frequently ppr.... Like us upfronts waiting from so long....not even any update....
