I recommend going to them because I don't have to sit on the phone for an hour waiting on CIC lol. I also never got this level of detail from previous phone calls.

To be honest though, I don't believe in any of this!!!!! Maybe I'm in denial, but I could get a decision made tomorrow. nobody knows anymore!!!!!!

Hmm, that makes sense, I wish you do get the DM tomorrow and so does happen to everyone including me. Guess ur MP is pretty good !

Thank you!!! PRAYING! Maybe the fact that they got a call from my MP made them pickup my file. Wishful thinking haha

My MP was really helpful actually, they are really responsive and do try to help in any way that they can.

They also admitted that the process internally at CIC is a mess. There are just stacks and stacks and stacks of applications.

CIC agents only have access to summaries of information and spreadsheets about progress so the info they give you is very vague, whereas the VOs know specific detail.

I think the MP doesn't even have access to VOs! But they do have a direct line to the agents as opposed to us who have to sit in a queue. She said since the change in government, their response time is much quicker too, which is why I got a response right away.

Are you referring to what my MP told me? I'm hoping so. I also just got a random line added to my ECAS:

We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on December 10, 2014.

LOL as if that's relevant now.

yeah, i think they just have to say that, because technically the application its still in progress you know. Until you get a decision made its suppose everything its still under review.

I also got a correspondence line in February about document requested on June 2015...

got my PPR
timeline:
file received: 26th AUG :)

LOL - you're probably right. I am trying to stay as positive as possible, and keep a smile on my face. Until I get a DM, or PPR, or COPR, anything goes! The most promising part of the info she provided, is that someone picked up my file 2 days ago. At least that means it's still alive haha.

I have a confusion here, for past 1 year i have been living in USA. I would like to update my address in the file.
How do i do it ? i couldnt find a link to update it.

Also , now that I received passport request, should I first update my address and send them my passports or should i do them simultaneously?

Hey!

Do they actually ask for your hard copy passport or copies? I submitted a copy of my new passport several weeks ago and wonder if I am able to skip that step altogether.

They mentioned clearly in email that If I need visa to enter Canada, I have to send original passport, otherwise, no need send it original and just copies are enough.
