I haven't received the Apology email yet either :
i think now they are going through all the emails that were sent this morning and apologizing to those who got it in error.

I got the apology email and I had never paid the fee prior. So disheartening.

I got so excited I told all my family and friends about it, now its so embarrassing , FAkk CIC.
Hello Guys!
August 25th applicant here. Got a payment request this morning, called CIC and been told that it was indeed a mistake and been asked to disregard. In the meantime I asked to check whether my eligibility was set to "passed" and got a negative response. So my guess is that RPRF request has nothing to do with whether certain files are being looked after. It was just a mass email distributed to everyone by mistake. But on the bright side it might be a sign that CIC is actually working
Keep on waiting for my medicals.

what do you mean by neative response? Response like 'dont have information now'???

Guys, I work in Database Development and I believe, the person who was supposed to send the RPRF requests through a system only to people who satisfy a specific condition, For Example: Send RPRF to applicants who have completed Medicals and the Eligibility and Criminality is passed and are not landed immigrants or have paid RPRF fees already.
I believe someone who initiated the RPRF requests did not check the conditions and the system sent email to most of the applicants in the database who did not satisfy the conditions as well.
That is why some people who did not even get MR yet have got the same whereas people who are already landed immigrants and have paid RPRF got the same request.
However, paying the fees now would be same as paying RPRF upfront, the application times will not change and the applications will be processed at the same pace CIC has been.
