Not sure, but my MR was supposed to be somewhere round April / May this year.

Since AOR in September 2014 I had nothing.
For me it is a good sign, at least someone touched the file and wants something.
They will get it tomorrow :) and then I hope they continue ...

AOR in September 2014?? Are you sure you're in the right section of the forum?

It is called "August 2014 application"...i was in the previous one which was deleted.
I applied August....
otherwise wouldn't it make maybe more sense to add "AOR received August"?

It seems to be a big discussion even for the officers who work on our files to determine from where the counter counts...application, sent, received, confirmed...

If u feel I am wrong here, well then....appologies.
I don't think 14 days make such a difference at a waiting time of 14 months, no?

cheers

So you received AOR 2 months before most mid-August applicants? Maybe they're processing your application faster than everyone else's.

Hi Apardhamija,

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=527&t=16

This link does not say you have to be from visa exempt country to re-enter to Canada without TRV from USA

Hi Harry: Read it carefully : It says : You can request to return to Canada on your original temporary resident visa, even if it is expired, if:
you will only visit the U.S. or St. Pierre and Miquelon.
* If you visit any country other than those listed above, you will need a new temporary resident visa.
As you are visiting Cuba and then US you would need a TRV.

Also It says that if your TRV is expired then you can request to return to Canada. An officer will confirm whether you meet all the requirements before allowing you to come back to Canada. But If you have a TRV then you will definitely be allowed to enter Canada. I know you might have planned your trip, but If I was in your place I would not leave Canada without a valid TRV to return. You might be allowed to come back if you were only going to US as it is stated above. But Cuba -> US -> Canada , I dont think thats a good idea to go without TRV. Check with CIC or an Immigration Consultant and then make your plans.

Hi Guys,

I just got off the phone with CIC, the background check is in process for my application.

I submitted CEC : Aug-05-2014. AOR received Oct-20-2014.

The CIC agent mentioned that the application must be finalized no longer than Feb-05-2015.

Hope this brings some smiles. I guess at this point we should all just keep a positive mind as CIC is starting the processing for old CEC applicants.

Understand, even though they would have done this in a better way, which they didnt, however now they have to finalize all CEC soon which I believe they have started. Its difficult for them as well to maintain and manage both CEC and EE.

Thanks for sharing the gud news Bro.. This gives strong hope for us who have been waiting patiently :)

Hi, I have decided to apply for TRV but -

I have one question regarding my application I applied for TRV in January 2015 but my application was withdrawn I did not know the reason why, CIC never told me this. It was just withdrawn, I assumed I did not send copies of all the pages on my passport which are stamped. But I really dont know why and my fee was refunded to me. Now I am again filling this application, how should I answer this question -

- Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entryor ordered to leave Canada or any other country - YES or NO

Thanks!

Hi...I have the same timeline like you....have u got MR and RPRF?

Hi - am not an expert but in my view, withdrawn is not Visa refused or rejected. So you can choose as NO.

I did apply for TRV for my kids who were on a Visitor Permit and their applications got withdrawn and i was reimbursed the fee after 5 months last year. The reason quoted was that TRV can be applied only by someone who holds a valid Work Permit or Study Permit.

Hey Guys,
August 25th 2014 applicant. New to this forum, wondering if there will be any change in ECAS notes when you recieve medical request.
Or, it only shows after they recieve medical resuls.

Once CIC receives the medicals, the ECAS would add one line saying "Medical results have been received". Sometimes it takes months to update in ECAS.

Hello all,

Just wanna let you guys that I am also August applicant. (Submitted on Aug 8, AOR on Nov 11).
I called CIC today and they haven't started eligibility on my file yet :(
Hope we get some good news soon!

Hey,

so to make it clear:
Application CEC sent 14. August 2015 (maybe 15th not sure, don't have my papers at the moment handy).
AOR received 25. September 2015.
NOC 2283

Since then....silence.

I guess now it is eligibility check, as they ask for prove that I am not in Quebec anymore. Was expecting this at one point and that's why I moved to BC as soon as I was able.

But something happens, so other files might be touched, too.
And this is all I wanted to tell anyone who is waiting, to motivate.

cheers

I see changes to eligibility parameters for BOWP now. I came to know thru the new thread in the forum

Previously if we had AOR with file number then we could apply for BOWP and now ur GCMS notes should say that ur application status as 'passed'.

Like most of people, I also think that if my application is 'In process' stage, then I'm not eligible for BOWP.

This sucks big time.
