Hey guys, everyone seems be ordering gcms notes. I haven't ordered my notes but I'm wondering if I should or not? Is it more insightful than emailing CIC for an update ?

Hello Guys,
I have just called CIC Call center and have asked them about the status of my application filed on 25th Aug 2014.
He informed me that, my application is in process and there are no updates on it since Nov 2014. Now I have informed him that my file is aged 17months, which is the average processing time.
Then he advised me that, 17 months is average processing time, however, exceptionally file might take 4 months additional. Consequently, he advised me to wait for another 4 months.

It will not take for than 4 weeks. They don't send anything to India for review, your passport will go to embassy and back. Mine took exactly 22 days.

the notes give you the details of the process. and what has actually been done. it does not speed the application,
Most of the time I was calling CIC and they were helpful.

the 17 month is a forecast for most of the applications, I have got my medical requested and the fee requested, I am waiting passport request.

even at this point they gave me a 4 moth window till end May, I think that's their plan to finish have all old CEC completed by then.

its a mater of time to process all applications. each application is unique and goes in different speed as each of us has different circumstances

I don't think it's possible to know when they will ask , there doesn't seem to be any pattern if you look at the spreadsheet a lot of Aug applicants got MR in May , and people who got AOR after them are still waiting... very frustrating

hey Mikee21, I think you are out of the trend. CIC already provided MRs for applicants till Aug 20 as of last week... ;D
