CEC Already Working with no LMIA - Scared and Confused

Thanks MF. The problem is the never ending (never answerable) question: CEC NOW or CEC under EE in 2 weeks!! The difference is about a year's worth of my 20s!

EE will become more clear once people get through it after first couple draws. CIC might revise the procedures too. But then we won't know until next year so you make your own decision.

But if I'm the situation, I would wait for a decision of straight up CEC before I jump into EE. With a valid work permit, you still live and work normally in Canada like you would with a PR, right?. If your WP expires before PR decision is made, you can apply for BOWP after getting AOR (Which is now about 4 months into the process?)

Straight up CEC is 13 months processing time start to finish
CEC-EE is 6 months PLUS the time between creation of profile and ITA.

What I don't understand is why you have not applied under CEC when you became eligible in the first place.
You could have got the PR by now.

You are still fine considering the fact that you have 4 yrs of Canadian exp and you would outscore most of CEC applicants.
No need to panic..

My 4 years of work experience includes time when I was in school working part time which means nothing to CIC. My actual qualifying job experience was materialized in about 2 weeks ago! Which is why I haven't applied yet. Good news is my Work Permit is valid till Nov 2016, so I guess I should apply under current CEC scheme just to save myself from the headache of Express Entry.What do you think Maple Madness? (your username actually gives you credibility just so you know)

My 4 years of work experience includes time when I was in school working part time which means nothing to CIC. My actual qualifying job experience was materialized in about 2 weeks ago! Which is why I haven't applied yet. Good news is my Work Permit is valid till Nov 2016, so I guess I should apply under current CEC scheme just to save myself from the headache of Express Entry.What do you think Maple Madness? OK.. couple of things..
Have you completed working full time for more than 12 months in a qualifying occupation??
If you are only working from last 2 weeks.. You may not be eligible under CEC as CEC needs a min one year of IN CANADA exp..
Best is to calculate your WP from the day your PGWP starts AND you are on a full time pay roll..
Is your IELTS done in last 2 years ?
DId you do credential evaluation for your Bachelors if that was done outside of Canada?

What is the point of tripping it? I doubt that many even apply. I guess its after taking into consideration future growth.

Apply under both would seem like the safest option. Apply under current system asap and then take the first steps in applying under Express Entry next year... if you get your application under the current system you will be fine, if not you have the backup of Express Entry, which should be fine as well if you have a years experience, despite the uncertainty at the moment. That's how I'm doing it: I've sent my application in under the old system but I'll make my profile in the new one in Jan. As mf4361 says, it could take a few months to get selected to apply under the new system in any event

Sorry to hear your situation: many people are in the same boat as you. However, you can apply CEC if and only if you fulfill all their criteria AT THE TIME WHEN YOU SUBMITTED YOUR APPLICATION.

I received my PGWP on Nov 27 2013, so I just recently (couple of weeks ago) MET the 1 year requirement to apply under CEC.
However, apparently now there's a new crisis (as there always is!):

I finished my requirements to graduate on July 2013 (Letter from School)
Applied for PGWP and received PGWP on Nov 27 2013
I did not convocate until November 2014 (because I'm a dumbass and got caught up with work and life)
Been working under qualified NOC 0122 since July 2013 (OCWP expired Nov 2013 AFTER I received PGWP on Nov 27 2013)

Does that mean that I can apply under CEC now since I've had my work experience and my PGWP since Nov 2013?
Some here think that work experience must be after CONVOCATION, while others think it must be after PGWP.
I'm so freaking confused guys!! Been in Alberta since 2008, just wanna get this damn thing over with!

I believe that your work experience starts when you are no longer under your full-time study and you have fulfilled all your requirement for graduation. Convocation is never important. In Ontario PNP, for example, they start processing your application at the time when you receive letter proving that you finished all requirements for graduation.

There is no need to be worry dear, bcoz if your documents meets with their requirement then you shall get VISA easily.

I am also an applicant under next year. For us CEC applicants, we dont need to get a job with LMIA but we need one if we need that 600 points. I personally think that is for FSW people, not for us; therefore, most of us will fall under 400-470 range. You are not the only one my friend

Thanks Tiffany. I'm just worried that we won't get the ITA soon and all the LMIA applicants will get priority after that. I have a shot of sending a CEC by Dec 31st, but I'm confused as to whether I should do that or to wait for EE. I'm just exhausted of this whole thing to be honest.

As far as I know, you can - a lot of FSW people will also apply under EE... so there is no reason that CEC people cannot apply under EE as well...
Regarding points - if you check the spreadsheet mentioned in other thread, if you have 450+ pts you are in upper 20% of candidates... at least that is the random statistics sample from this forum, and should be very good...
