447 is actually pretty high (disregarding the 600 points atm) according to this fellow. [1] And let's not forget target CEC aspirants are gonna be about tripled to 21-24k. [2]

Wow the outright ignorance in the comments section of the CBC article is astonishing!

CEC cap of 8000 for the year 2014 has been reached. My application was already returned and now it looks like EE is the only boat. Wait for a few more draws and I think the baseline will drop eventually.

Just waiting to see a change hopefully all pgwp with noc 0 a or b with a valid job offer get invited I submitted my application on Nov 17 just to get it returned thank god I still have a good 6 months on my pgwp.

Canada is my home and where I build my career after studying there will be a way I hope everyone over 400 gets the invite.

My score btw 438/600.

If I had lmia or pnp I would have a whooping 1000+

Just giving it time cheers everyone

Guys,

Those with PGWP can send their concerns to immigration committee.

I sent my concerns and I received reply that they will review my concerns.
If many of us reports the concerns then it may change the way EE is working now:

Here is the list of Email on immigration committee:

Jay Aspin <jay.aspin@parl.gc.ca>,
Pierre Labelle <pierre.labelle@parl.gc.ca>,
Chungsen Leung <chungsen.leung@parl.gc.ca>,
Costas Menegakis <costas.menegakis@parl.gc.ca>,
John McCallum <John.McCallum@parl.gc.ca>,
Jasbir Sandhu <jasbir.sandhu@parl.gc.ca>,
Devinder Shory <devinder.shory@parl.gc.ca>,
Rathika Sitsabaiesan <rathika.sitsabaiesan@parl.gc.ca>,
David Tilson <David.Tilson@parl.gc.ca>,
steven.blaney@parl.gc.ca

We need to speak out if we want to be heard!!

I get the impression from reviewing the information on the second draw that by the time you get your LMIA document you might be selected for ITA anyway. After the second draw the minimum points required went down by 70 (it was 886, went down to 816). I can only imagine that come 2-3 months time that the minimum points will be a tad more reasonable for non LMIA document holders.

And that's the thing. Does that mean that I won't get the 600 points? And if not, will I ever receive ITA just based on my other factors? It seems very ridiculous to be treated this way after being in the country for 6 years, having an excellent job in my field. And now I have to compete (at a lower level) with someone out of Canada with fewer qualifications because a small employer (read: someone's cousin) got him an LMIA. That is unfair and not at all beneficial for Canada.
You are absolutely right, and all of us in the same boat have every right to be scared. No matter what you do, how young you are, how good your English and education, and how much experience you have in Canada, you cannot get more than 600 points without an LMIA. In the first two draws, those with 816 points or more were chosen. That means that they got 600 points for their LMIA job offer, and had as few as 216 for language, education, etc. So far, Canada is making it clear it is looking for people to fill jobs Canadians don't want, and only giving lip service to the idea that highly educated people with Canadian experience and English and/or French skills are being chosen. In fact, many of us in that category working on OWPs may be seen as stealing jobs from Canadians.

May be? It's precisely how it's viewed. Unfortunately.

Same situation. PGWP working full time in a decent job. Grad - top univ in India, Masters - from one of the best in Canada. over 4 yrs of qualified foreign exp.. Now I am competing with fake cooks who probably gave 10k cad to immigration agencies to get LMIA through unethical means. I know how Canadian immig agencies work. Have friends there.

Been in Canada since 4 years and paid heavy tuition too. This is not fair.
