The first Profession has been capped although this is unofficial but there
is high element of truthfulness in this.

THE CAPPED PROFESSION IS Computer programmer and Interactive media
developers with NOC 2174.It is 1000 according to the forum spreadsheet

If you are planning to submit under this profession,do think twice before
submitting.

I will humbly advise you wait for Express Entry starting Jan.2015

I don 't know what you make out of the SS data but I just checked it and it only suggest that globally 1047 apps would have been submitted so far, and clearly suggest further that the total number of complete/successful apps which would be charged would have just reached 910 so far!!

This still leaves a window of about 90 more complete apps!!

So don't spread uninformed and misguiding information!!

Based on the spreadsheet data alone, which in itself is just an estimate - actual story could be quite different, it'll still take this NOC about 6-10 more working days to reach the CAP as of now!!

Let people take a chance as 1. no one knows when the Cap will actually reach, 2. no harm in trying as there is practically nothing to lose!!

Please choose your word carefully.
Don't forget that this so call forum just represents fraction of the
world applicants.
A lot of people would have submitted that this forum spreadsheet
did not capture.

I once make this same mistake last year when I submitted under
chemical engineering profession by following CIC update on applications
received and to my surprise my application was returned due to capping
despite CIC saying 190 applications received as at the time of my submission.

2174 & 1112 would have reached its cap of 1000 application with june first week. I suggest not to send applications in these occupations.

Thank you for saying the truth about these two NOCs.
By now these 2 NOCs would have been filled up before 27/08/2014.
If you are interested in these 2 NOCs,I will advise you
go for the Express Entry coming up from Jan.2015

who's talking about following the CIC Caps update!! You obviously did a Big mistake as you completely misunderstood the CIC Cap data which is usually 2-3 months old!! Meaning, as of now the CIC Cap page shows about 406 apps for 2174, now that's for applications received up till 14th May itself!! & I guess you took them as till present!! So obviously that was a mistake!!

I never talked about that page, I am talking about the Spreadsheet which is made by people on this forum and reflects to some extent the date estimates!! We even have the last year spreadsheet to give you an idea as to how close it could be to the real data, so one can make a decent guess atleast!!

last year when the Cap was only 300, it had filled on 30 May, now it's 1000, more than triple, you still expect it to fill in 1st week of June!!

Especially since the fact that major rush of applications are received in CIC during first 2 weeks of May when the program opens up and after that there's a huge decline of number of apps received per day which will further stretch the Cap deadline!!

Again as I said, why suggest people not to file it as it's a no risk game!! Let them take a chance, why strongly suggest not to file when you have clear indications on spreadsheet itself that the NOC still might be open!! They might still make it!!

I only pointed out that probably you misinterpreted the data on the SS as it was showing app received number had crossed 1000 but I told you that the apps accepted number is still under 1000 and that is the number which is indicative of the 1000 cap figure!! Hope you get what I am saying!!

It is the number of PERs issued from the beginning of the program year (May 1, 2014) for applications received through approximately May 14. Nobody is sure of which date. But when the page is updated the numbers are already a couple of months old. If your NOC has only 56, you should still be fine, but I suggest applying ASAP nonetheless.

As future_canadian explained, the numbers on the CIC web site reflect applications received until around mid-May. It's difficult to say how many applications for your NOC will have been received by mid November. One way is to guess based on the number of applications received by CIC until mid-May (i.e. assume around 60 applications were received every two - which means that around 700 applications will have been received by the time you submit yours). But all of this is obviously just a guess...

People send their application to the CIO. Applications are reviewed if they are complete and sent under the correct program. Only if the CIO considers the application as complete, it will send a confirmation to the applicant and count it against the cap. The published numbers represent applications REVIEWED by the CIO (Centralized Intake Office) and not applications received.

Due to the volume of received applications and the feedback in different forums, the backlog of received applications at the CIO is an estimated 12 to 15 weeks. As of August, 25th there are 404 applications received for NOC2174. The CIO adds more or less 100 applications per week to this NOC. This means that there is space for 6 more weeks worth of applications before the cap will be reached. Given the backlog of over 12 weeks, there is no point to apply for NOC2174 - Immigration Canada will fill the cap with the applications already received.

We agree with ksa0510 and strongly suggest to prepare your application for 2015 under the new Express Entry. Based on what is known by now, there will not be any application cap as in the current system.

U said the number is current which means fro. May 1st till now the noc is filled with 65 applications, not to mention the other accumulated apps they've not added yet.
so wt do u think my chances are in mid november?
By the way the noc on the spreadsheet has reached 92

Lolz!! The CIO adds more or less 100 applications per week to this NOC. This is quite random!!

Look at how CIC has updated (added) application numbers for 2174 on their Cap page we are talking about-

6/6/2014 - 39
6/24/2014 - 106
6/30/2014 - 123
7/7/2014 - 129
7/14/2014 - 130
7/22/2014 - 131
7/28/2014 - 135
8/12/2014 - 197
8/18/2014 - 313
8/25/2014 - 404

that's allmost 12 weeks, making an average 33 application CIC is adding Per week for this NOC!! Also observe Average for different weeks, it's sometimes only 1 app per week!!

So pls understand it also depends on the number of applications received!! If that drops, number of apps on CIC cap page will also increase slowly!! It can not be 100 for next 6 weeks!! Lolz!! It's clear & obvious that number of applications reaching CIC dropped substantial after mid of May, so the game will be played for longer.... the average drops!!
