Let's squash this whole idea of CIC checking this or other forums. No way. Impossible. Even if they did (which they don't), the evidence obtained from this forum would be worthless, as there would be no way to prove that the person posting is indeed the applicant or sponsor.

As for the waiting, yes, it sucks. I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones to have a good visa officer. PPR within a month of receiving the file from CIC-M. My visa office only sends the PPR at the end of the process, so we know that the visa has been approved and all that's left to do is put the visa in my wife's passport. I can't put myself in the shoes of those who have had to wait so long, but all I can say is that you cannot give up so easily. I never considered this to be a 'test' of my relationship with my wife. Our relationship is strong enough to last the test of time...no matter what...

Don't give up!!!

I completely understand the frustration and I assume that all of us feel it to some extent. Many of us cannot afford to sit around for a couple of years doing nothing, waiting for their immigration status to be resolved. This has serious financial and professional consequences.

The reality also is that for some the benefit of gaining PR in Canada is greater than for others. I don't have anything to gain by moving to Canada except the ability to live with my husband. Still, if our application here for any reason did not work out, we always have the option of moving to my country instead without significant personal, material or professional costs. The choice we made to live together in Canada is not the only choice we ultimately have.

I'm sure that many couples applying for PR in Canada are in a similar situation. If the spouse PR process is unreasonably long and convoluted, Canada may end up losing some of its own citizens to other states.
Agreed! and also my husband and I are already thinking about other ways to be together. It was hard to talk about it but it's healthy to talk to about other options. It all depends on your case. Ours seems tough and before getting married we accepted the fact we were going to go through something like this. We are willing to do what it takes. Meanwhile, I can work, save money and visit my husband during this process.
:D good luck to you all

For me was the most difficult thing I ever did, stay away from my husband, and believe me I didn't have a easy life before I met my husband.
But I am still here, frustrated at times,of course, angry, happy, anxious, nervous....during this process I got to know all the good and bad feelings.

We all did!

But life its a battle, this is another "war" that we have to win!! And it dosen't matter how many times we fail down in life it really matters how many times we stand up again and keep fighting.
