Although it will MOST likely not happen to you, can you imagine a CIC officer reading your post and somehow link it to your file?

Even if there is a 1% chance that this would happen, is it worth it?
You're overanalysing this forum too much. CIC officers don't have time to sit on immigration forums! This would be possible in a crazy and paranoid world not in Canada.

they might come across here but what you are saying is only possible if he gives out accurate information of his file say his Name, proper dates of his file movement, and other such info, then if someone wants to snitch on him can do so or a cic-agent comes around, but other than that, meh... no chance...

Hmm you guys have softened my heart and also motivated me. Patience is a virtue. I just have to wait. You know frustration can drive a man to do and say rubbish.

@McDutch, I agree with you. I will delete the post immediately.

CAN'T WAIT:) *cross fingers*
Reading your post makes me wanna cry almost...why?? because i will GIVE ANYTHING to be up there with my love one...even if i have to sit and wait, at lease we are together....Its much harder being far from each other and going to work and coming home and that person, your partner is not there....I wish i could exchange places with you, cause i will..... Its not even about being in Canada, but more being with the one you love and if they have established themselves in Canada already, the least you can do or me or anyone is wait it out especially if we are up there together, regardless if i have to be the one sitting at home... My advice is find something to occupy yourself, run, volunteer, tutor someone....find joy somehow..but dont give up on being there with your partner, while you have millions of people who would envy you for that...

Yep me for example >< i envy everyone that can be with their partner while waiting!!! We dont have that, the distance is so very hard on us (meanwhile about 5 months we have seen each other last time), but for nothing in the wolrd i would give us up. And we choose to live in canada cause thats right now the best option we have and he has not to decide between either living with me or his kid.

@ Leisa P, I have contacted contacted CIC-call center and was told that my file was transferred to CPP-O in July 7, 2012. I have been patient and I am still trying to be.

I would love to take a tour oF any CPC. Just curious to know if they are actually working hard or just sitting around and taking 5 coffee breaks.
Coffee breaks? huh... I went to CHC Islamabad and they were playing table tennis on the balcony. They don't care how long it takes for you to be with your family.. for them its just another day at office.. a govt office...

However after looking at the situation today in Islamabad.. I feel they are right on their part even if they ban ALL kinds of visas from Pakistan... No one should welcome wild animals to their civilized countries...

You are more than half way done. Don't give up! I've felt like giving up on this whole process and I was just filling out paperwork but I can't give up on my husband. I love him that much I'm willing to leave my country, a nice job and friends. If you both love each other that much, you will need to face this together and when you are past this stage, other problems will be easier to handle. Hugs

I wish I could say this is not true, but my attorney received a letter from CIC's attorney pointing to my blog and basically said "look at what your client is saying about us". So they do indeed review information from the internet.

As for the OP, yes Ottawa is making headway. I had a CIC officer tell me they had completed processing my file in Ottawa and were forwarding it to Los Angeles for final processing.

I think this is because your case is very unique and you gave lots of info about yourself, so it would be easy to track you. It's just my hypothesis, who knows?
Did the officer who called you was the one looking at your family sponsorship app?

LOL. No actually, the officer who called me was processing a temporary application unrelated to the family sponsorship application. As part of that processing she had talked to the officer handling the sponsored application. The attorney was dealing with the challenge to my prior refusal. But my point is that I wouldn't count on quite as much anonymity as one might expect, particularly if they initiate an investigation into your case.

I completely understand the frustration and I assume that all of us feel it to some extent. Many of us cannot afford to sit around for a couple of years doing nothing, waiting for their immigration status to be resolved. This has serious financial and professional consequences.

The reality also is that for some the benefit of gaining PR in Canada is greater than for others. I don't have anything to gain by moving to Canada except the ability to live with my husband. Still, if our application here for any reason did not work out, we always have the option of moving to my country instead without significant personal, material or professional costs. The choice we made to live together in Canada is not the only choice we ultimately have.

I'm sure that many couples applying for PR in Canada are in a similar situation. If the spouse PR process is unreasonably long and convoluted, Canada may end up losing some of its own citizens to other states.

Mevis, hold the faith! in future years, you will forget the frustration you feel today and can look back on this as such a small time spent apart in retrospect. It is ok to feel weak at times as long as you can gain strength from it. I wish for you a speedy process! And do try to occupy yourself as much as you possibly can with other things non-immigration related, it does help! Best wishes!
