So I applied today with my ticket of November 1. They gave me a paper that says on top "receipt for passport service" it has expected mail out date October 28, 2022

We mailed out our applications so Im assuming the receipt is given to certain in-person applications.

Yes go to bls and show the guard this sampark receipt and he will let you in directly.

I sent them an email today I’m hoping they will help my husband it’s been 5 months since he apply to renewal his Refugee travel document

i did not because my area MP is different but he was helpful and we got our passport fast after waiting for 4 months lol

Finally this journey truly over!!!!
Application sent: June 1st, delivered on June 3rd, mail application, no travel plan, from Edmonton AB.
CC Charged: July 8th
Passport received: Sep 26th
Certification received: Sep 27th
Almost 17 weeks

I mailed my passport application at around the same time as you, and I got my Certificate back since early August.

My application has been 17 weeks, so I called the 1-866 number.

Turned out my file was pending on my choice to choose something on my passport, but NO ONE from Passport Canada had called me over the past 8 weeks. I wasn't missing any documents nor filled out anything wrong.

And now they said they may charge an additional $45 to transfer to the local office if I need the passport soon.

Ridiculous...


I do applaud them for asking me to choose something on my passport though.

It's my son's first passport and I need a passport number to purchase the ticket!
I applied for him in person by an appointment on May 4th and they said mailing out date on Jun 2nd but nothing of course!
Travel date supposed to be Jun 24th!
What do I do now?!

They asked if I had any travel plans, and I said yes. They asked the date and I told them 15-Oct. They didnt ask if I booked the tickets. Then they said since its past 17 weeks, we will transfer the file. You will get a call anytime between now and 48hrs prior to travel on the next steps. If they dont call, you can walk-in to the office. So tired already imagining...i am not expecting a call really based on other experiences I have read.

Do you know if you have to take a new application form+photos there for your transfer?
