Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Update: Applied by mail was received May 26. Husband's replacement (damaged), Son's renewal. At time said 9 wks processing. Called 4 wks ago and 2 wks ago and was told just recieved and not touched yet, no credit card charged. Our trip to Mexico is Sept 17th. Getting nervous since no credit card charge, decided to call again and ask for a transfer. We are crossing to the states by land for a family reunion in 2 wks and while we have Nexus, decided to see if we can use that as an excuse to get them. They put in for the transfer last night and finally today my husband's passport was charged to our credit card. Fingers crossed we get them soon.

An agent phoned today and asked some questions about the damaged passport. She canceled the transfer and is mailing out his new passport.

BTW...we have found in BC that if we call the number at 15 min. past the hour we usually are able to get in line to speak with an agent.

Received a call from Passport canada: Photo was rejected: December 16, 2021 (need to re-submit photos)
New photo received @ Gatineau, QC: December 24, 2021
Received a letter: "Close-out Warning Notice" March 07, 2022 ( telling me that I am not re-submitting their requested photo)
New photo (from Staples) received : March 17, 2022
Certificate of Canadian Citizenship (from QC) received: June 21, 2022
My elusive Canadian Passport: ??????????????

Month of April and May, during my day off... was a thorough follow up to check my app is still active and have to render a day to get in touch with the 1-800 passport number. Sometimes my queue was in 500ish, 600'ish. Best time to call around 7 a.m. (est) or around 3;30pm (est).

Things come when you least expect it...
FINALLY....my passport arrived!

Wait this is very weird. Since when was having a travel plan a prerequisite for obtaining a passport?

In my case, I will need Indian visa to travel after getting Canadian passport. When I was talking to an agent, she mention that it will take 1 month to get Indian visa according to her knowledge. So they will try to produce my passport 1 month before my travel date. Later I explained, I will need to surrender Indian citizenship, apply for visa during holiday season etc. and 1 month is not enough. I hope they understood.

india visa is very fast, if you have right reason you get it within a week. I got it in 3 business days by getting emergency appointment at sampark.

oci i did not go for since i have to do it quickly. oci takes around 2 months.

Called in today to ask for an update and was told that processing was complete and the package was sent to Canada Post this morning. The agent provided me with a tracking number so hopefully it will arrive in a couple days.

Timeline:
Application mailed = 12th of April, 2022
Application received= 13th of April, 2022
CC charged = 6th of May, 2022
Processing Complete / Passport mailed out = 8th of August, 2022

Passport received 9th of August. Citizenship certificate was not in the package so hopefully that gets back sometime soon.

surrender indian passport and visa you can apply same time but your time line is question mark

Got the passport today!! But no citizenship certificate

Here is my timeline:

Application Sent: April 13, 2022
Application Delivered: April 14, 2022
CC Charged : May 11, 2022
Received Passport: August 9, 2022
Citizenship Certificate: N/A

Wanted to give an update on my timeline (my travel date is Aug 18th)

Timeline:
Application mailed = 21st of May, 2022
Application received= 24th of May, 2022
CC charged = 5th of July, 2022
Called Passport 6868 number and got them transfered to local office (Main Toronto Passport Office) = Aug 2nd, 2022
Got called from Passport Office that they are processing it and it will be ready for pickup on Aug 16th = Aug 9th, 2022
Picking it up = to be Aug 16th, 2022

Well after 5 years starting the I citizenship process, my passport arrived today.
no citizenship certificate , but I believe that process has changed now, and it arrives a couple of weeks after your passport ?

I havent received anything yet. Yes its my first Canadian PP. Im seeing Many april applicants getting their pp. Staying hopeful. Glad that you received something atleast. Good days are not far

Passport and Citizenship certificate received: August 10, 2022.

My partner applied with me and received everything too. Got 2 envelopes together.

This is my 1st passport, no travel date, never contacted them, just patiently waited and Guarantor was never called.

I am so happy!!!
