Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Have you requested an update for your wife's application using the status request form, to know if it's been approved or still under examination?

I did last week, still no answer from them.

Usually, after 2-3 weeks they will charge your CC (if it was your method of payment), and after that and within 2 weeks you receive the passport if everything is OK.

Yeah, it takes time to answer. I sent mine 10 days ago, and still haven't heard back. Hopefully you will get some answers. Also, try calling tomorrow early morning when they open at 7:30 am. I heard there would be fewer callers, and thus a better chance to get through.

Congratulations. What about the certificate? Did you receive it with the passport in the same envelope?

You either call them and give them the new info if your file submitted more than 2 weeks ago, or wait until they call you if there is an issue with the payment info and ask you for the new info.

@Costa5053 from other people's experiences, we know they will probably never call you, so it's better you call them.

For US & Canada use this # as provided on their Site. Toll free: 1-800-567-6868 , choose option 2 for Passport Status and be ready for 1.5 Hours of wait time

@Costa5053 from other people's experiences, we know they will probably never call you, so it's better you call them.

When it comes to payment they call. The applicant can call but if their file was sent recently, their wait for the call would be in vain.

Just called them around 11h30. 425 calls were in the line ahead of me. Took 1hr to wait to receive a piece of information: "your application is under examination. No any notice at the time being" . Fingers crossed
