I submitted my application in-person. I was told to expect the passport in a few weeks. I assumed that the receipt would have some sort of tracking number, but when I got home and noticed, there is no tracking number on it. I wonder which phone number is it and when should I call them? I think I have seen people talking about phone number, but I can't find that thread now.For mail-in applications - NO (but I think if you call them, they might tell you something). For In-Person applications, pickup date is mentioned on the pickup slip if you submitted it at a passport office and chose a pickup service.
Besides, when they mail the passport out, how do people get the Canada post tracking information? How do they even know that it has been mailed out?
There should be some sort of information sheet online by Passport Canada or they should give it out when people apply for the passport. That would help greatly.
