Can I apply for a passport at Kitchener or Hamilton passport office if I live in Toronto? I need to travel by 20th December and the earliest appointment I'm getting at the Toronto office is for Jan 5th. The walk in-lines in Toronto are crazy; people start lining up at 4 a.m.

I walked in Kitchener office (13 Dec) - though i live in Brampton. They accept walk-ins. I asked for expedited pick-up and they charged 50 dollars extra, did not ask for any proof of travel. Pick up will be on 20 Dec.

I received my passport recently. We need to write our address on page #4. The thing is I live in a rented place and don't want to mess up with the passport by striking out the addresses whenever I move places.

I talked to passport Canada with the question of whether we can use pencil for the address part or not. They replied that I can use a pencil so that the address can be erased easily whenever needed. and the emergency contact is not mandatory.

I wanted to see if someone has any experience of using a pencil and then erasing it. @rajkamalmohanram any idea about it?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info. I ended up going to the Mississauga office yesterday and applied for an urgent passport. I will be picking it up tomorrow.

how was the experience doing walk in without appointment at Missisauga? What time you had to be there in the morning?
thanks,
nerd.

Applied in person in mid Oct, and still haven't received the passport. Called the Service Canada and said no timeline and even not processed, just asked me to wait. I would suggest if you can have urgent process please do it. If not, no timeline to process and maybe after a few months due to covid. They now just stopped process any passport application because of covid.

Hi Guys,
Do you know if there is any Service Canada location open on Saturdays?
I’ve already received my certificate, but am on a very busy schedule for an in perspin application on week days.
Also, would you suggest that I try to go in person without an appointment after 12pm on a week day in any location?
I’ve already made an appt for Jan 4th, 2022 with Service Canada but was just hoping to speed up the process.
Your feedback is appreciated :)

I applied in-person December 9th in Montreal and paid the extra $20 to pick it up in-person (Not sure why I have to pay if I'm saving them the postage; that's definitely a head-scratcher). Scheduled pick-up date is 23rd of December - exactly 2 weeks after applying.

applied in person with an appointment and flight tickets.
The officer was nice and my express service fee was waived. Just paid $160+20 for pick up in 5 business days.

Hi,

I am eligible to apply for canadian citizenship. But my indian passport is expiring in next 10 months which I am planning to renew in next 2-3 months. Can I apply for citizenship now or should renew my current passport first?
