Hi,
My cousin delivered a baby while she was a dependent of post graduate student work permit holder. Basically gave birth to a girl as a wife of work permit holder while she was house wife in Calgary, Alberta.
The baby was covered under Alberta health care.
My cousin now moved to Montreal as a international student with her baby and it seems both mom and daughter are not eligible for Quebec health care.
We tried to reason with Quebec Health for getting health care for the baby as the baby is Canadian citizen with Canadian birth certificate and passport but no success.
Not sure if anyone faced similar situation?
- Is there any clause in Quebec health care to get the baby covered as she is Canadian citizen? The parents are student and work permit holder and are not eligible for free health care in Quebec?
- Is there any Federal Health program that covers the baby Canadian Citizen (I have been told by Service Canada that IFHP is only for refugees)?
Thanks for your help!
