Hello to everyone,
I need you advise regarding the visa stamped on my passport and the work permit issued in the port of entry. My VISA which was stamped on my passport will expire on Sept. 3, 2011 and the work permit issued will expire on Nov. 01, 2011. Do I need to renew the VISA stamped on my passport before Sept. 3? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone.

I'm currently undergoing caregiver training course and I got a positive LMO just recently. LMO expiration date will come before end of my training. In applying for work permit, I will be needing the certificate of training, which will not be release until end of the training. Any idea on how to go about this.

Thanks!

Have your prospective employer file for a new LMO for you. The LMO must be with CIC on or before the expiration date and even if you did file your application for a work permit before LMO expiry, your certificate has a later date and LMO might even be questioned. BTW how were you able to get a positive LMO or even an employer without having the experience or certificate? Just curious.

My employer filed for LMO on the earlier part of my training, not expecting that it will be approved that fast. Anyway, can the LMO be extended instead of filing for a new one? Thanks!

Your employer would have been given a letter together with the positive LMO in your name. S/he can not extend the LMO if it wasn't used. S/he would have to apply for a new one.
