what I think is that the Canadian government should make strategy to handle the hug backlog in proper manner by increasing there number of visa in moderate way that would not effect there economy!

People like me who were promised my Canada Immigration department that our case will processed in 12 months of time are still waiting from last 2 years for our turn to come! & Poor part of this wait that is we are still not given any tentative time by when our cases will processed . Every we write to CHC we get the same reply they received have 400k applications and it will take 2 year to process these applications .

I strongly believe that every one who applied for Canadian Immigration did plan there future in Canada and are still waiting and looking towards the Canadian government to process his application as per the commitment made in his Letter of Acceptance !

Hi ,

Completely agree with what have been said so far regarding the unfairness of Keny's strategy for immgration to Canada and how it harmed those who applied under the old system before Feb 2008 especially. BUT the question is , what we can get by sitting in front of the screens of our computers and just tweeting about a problem that all of us know it very well through its direct impact on our life . What to do in order to let pepole there in the Canadian Gov. or Parlament hearing our tweets . If we could get our voice into the dicision making circle in Canada , then we may have some hope to see canadian land in some visible future .

I know that as just an " immigration applicants" , we haven't any obligations (rights) to be heard because simply we are still not accepted as canadian PR or citizines. BUT we still have the right to judge the case through the commitments they made in the AOR letters we all received , I mean the time frame they put to finalize our application and to give dicision no matter whether is positive or negative rather than keeping us waiting for several years hunged between earth sky and don't have any idead about our applications.

We need to move ahead from this stage (tweeting each other) toward the postion where we can let them hear our tweets. HOW ????????

best of luck to all

I think from our part we can do what Kachukas has done. Please send email to CIC informing them about clearing the backlog applications. That is how we can get unfairness of canadian immigration system, especially the bad treatment to pre-Feb 2008 applications, to the notice of Mr Kenney and related others. I thnink it will certainly help for the backloggers.

the minister has been been very vocal about the backlog being created by Liberal govt but himself refuses to take the blame for creating another backlog

in the process he has ended up with the most unfair immigration system in the world

the only option is to get a writ of mandamus from the courts in Canada to get your cases processed

I second what "Catoda" has suggested . Although we all quit sure that Mr Kenny and canadian Gov and parlament know better than us about the size of this problem , still we need to raise our voices again and again untill they hear us and make some movements to solve this problem in a way that keeps our rights (at least moral rights) in getting answers to the question : when our cases can be finalized? .So let every one do like what "kchakus" has done and send a letter to the PM or Kenny himself any other affecting personel . Don't wory about the text of the letter they will understand , or you cann copy any leter sent previously ( since they themselves are used to copy the same answer to every enquiery , I had read some where in this forum the same reply that "kchakus" received ) .
Please any one has any contact address or email to be used for the purpose of this issue , let it be published here .

I would like to compare this situation with the problem of corruption being faced by whole of India.
Everybody thought the corruption is an integral part of everybody's life and that we have to live with it....
until our saviour, named Anna Hazare arrived to take the politicians to task in the form a Jan Lokpal bill and recently campaign against the congress in the Hissar by-elections. Eventually congress candidate has lost it as well.
Anna Hazare campaign was possible due to the collect effort of all Indians and not just Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan, Shanti Bhushan or Kiran Bedi.

Hence I request all the back loggers to send mails to Prime Minister of Canada, requesting him to look at the objectives of Canada Immigration, whether Jason Kenney has done a good job as an immigration.
Even though Kenney has repeatedly stated that he was reducing the backlog by streamlining Canadian Immigration, today the backlog has crossed 1 Million and still increasing. Obviously the strategy has failed and needs to be re-looked into for a better solution.
Also CIC needs to be fair to applicants who have been waiting for the longest.
All the best for the backloggers!!!!

You must remember though that Anna Hazare's tactics worked due to the global attention it received. I really think we would be more effective if we went as a group to the minister about our grievances in addition to inviting both Canadian & international media to cover such a joint initiative. There's strength in numbers; if as many people go as one, it would be very difficult for Canadian authorities to ignore our plight esp once the world's attention is focussed on them.....

That is exactly what I mean, when I mention that all backloggers must atleast give a shot at the PM of Canada to let him know the frustration. Obviously we are not in a position to meet the PM face-to-face.
Hence the best and easiest alternative is to email and let him know about our concerns asap.
There is nothing to worry as it's just our opinion about being discriminated for no fault.

I suggest everybody must write to PM of Canada and Minister Kenny that if you process applications after say 10 years what would happen to the demand of young work force and timeline between application to Visa is so long that people after immigration approval will demand the retirement benefits from the canadian govrnment and what benefit they would be to the canadian system
