Hi
So.. I've been in Canada since August and I'm graduating the first week of May. I should receive my required documents for a PGWP around May 20, and will apply from inside of Canada asap (so probably May 21).
I'm from a country that requires a visa and the one they gave me with my student permit expires in July 22, it's multiple entry.
I'm considering going to my home country to visit for 2-3 weeks, from April 30 to May 20. Technically, I'm not a student anymore by my documents are valid until July 22.
One big thing though is that I have a new passport. My original passport with my visa hasn't expired (expires in November), I just issued a new one so I could get my PGWP there, with no expiry restrictions. Normally, or at least for the US, I would just carry both passports and present the one with the visa when required, but I've seen some back and forth about this when it comes to Canada.

Can I travel and come back to Canada in May 20?

Absolutely unbelievable. A huge coincidence. My situation is exactly the same as yours, required documents are expected by May 20, recently got issued a new passport so I don't have any expiry restrictions, TRV is on my old passport, etc. I hope you get your answer as I'm in the same situation as well but have delayed all my travel plans until I receive my PGWP.

Oh, wow! Is there a reason you’re waiting until after you receive your PGWP? Id figured it would be harder to travel later, since the visa would expire soon.

I would advise not to since your TRV was issued as a student. Other way, once you have all the documents, flagpole to the nearest US/CAN Boarder, apply for PGWP and TRV on your new passport
