I concur with scylla. Once you have your PR here in Canada, then you can get married (in the Philippines) and apply for visa for your new wife and your son. I am concerned though that if your son wasn't declared on the family members form already given to CIC, you could have a problem. Did your mother list her grandson?
yes sir. my son is listed as a non accompanying dependent and he did medicals back in the philippines. what are your thoughts about this? should i be fine? and does my wife need a job for her to be sponsored by me in the near future? thank you!

It doesn't matter if your wife has a job or not. But is she your wife or your girlfriend? You said before she was your girlfriend and you lived at different addresses. It's good that your son was listed as non accompanying dependent. Was your wife/girlfriend also listed?

I don't know. I don't think it should effect too much, if at all. Of course your application would look stronger if she was a working, highly functioning individual. But if no it shouldn't matter. That you're working and can support her is more important, but if your dad agrees to say that he will support all of you (and if his income actually can) that should be fine.

Again, it's completely fine. Worry about how you will support them instead.

she is more than willing to work if ever she lands in canada in the future. she might continue her studies in canada if given a chance. it's so unfortunate that she has to stop her studies because of some inevitable reasons. but anyway, i want to send my big big thanks to you. i really appreciate your reply and it means a lot to me. God Bless!

Your son was declared on the immigration form and your son's mother was living at separate address and just your girlfriend. Sounds to me like you should be fine. Once you have your PR here in Canada and have enough money saved up, go marry your maganda ;) Then you can fill out all the spousal visa forms like I did a couple months ago.

It is a long difficult process. My wife's cousin was here for over six years until finally her husband and son finally arrived here a month ago. I am expecting my wife to be here much sooner than that though... 8)

They probably applied through Live In Caregiver - not Family Sponsorship. Different processing times.

My wife's cousin came here as a care-giver. It takes three years minimum I think before she can get her PR. You already have your PR though don't you? A friend of mine at work has his PR and got visa (from Manila office) for his wife in six months, so I am expecting similar time frame for my wife. 8)
