I am currently on my OPT and working in the US. I am authorized to work in the US for 2 years on my F1 visa. I am thinking of applying for canada PR.

Can I continue to work in the US even after getting Canada PR or does my F1 visa get impacted.

u can continue to work till u have valid EAD for USA, but once u get PR u have to maintain PR rules of staying of canada.

Anyone done this? Taken Canada PR and continued to work on F1 Visa? I'm thinking of applying for PR this year and moving to Canada once my F1 Visa runs out. I would be interested to hear if anyone has done this.

Will be doing same thing. First landing on May 2nd week. STEM OPT expiring next year. But will move to Canada later this year.

Can you share your mail ID? I'm interested to know how it works.
Its nothing complicated. If you move to Canada before your EAD expires, you can easily maintain your physical presence requirements in Canada to maintain PR. You get EAD for only 3 years max unless you switch to H-1B.

So taking Canada PR does not impact my EAD in any way? And there is no restriction from Canada side of I continue working in USA as long as I met the physical presence requirements?

My EAD is valid until January 2020. I was thinking of applying this year, which means it would come through by December 2018. I want to continue working in the US until my EAD expires in 2020 and then move to Canada. I don't know if that's possible.

Yep, it is. You are not obligated to move to Canada immediately after receiving CoPR. Just do the first landing within 1 year of medical otherwise you will have to do it again. And your PR status will not have any affect on your US visa. Move to canada before your EAD expires or when you need to because of residency requirements whichever is earlier. Thanks, that's useful info. How about a job though? Have you got one or do you plan to look for one once you move? Sorry for the third degree, but this information is really relevant and useful for me.

No problem. I did not look for a job yet but will do in the near future and before I move. My move date is not concrete yet as my EAD is valid until summer next year. So I got some time.
