Will be doing same thing. First landing on May 2nd week. STEM OPT expiring next year. But will move to Canada later this year.Anyone done this? Taken Canada PR and continued to work on F1 Visa? I'm thinking of applying for PR this year and moving to Canada once my F1 Visa runs out. I would be interested to hear if anyone has done this.
Can you share your mail ID? I'm interested to know how it works. Will be doing same thing. First landing on May 2nd week. STEM OPT expiring next year. But will move to Canada later this year.
Its nothing complicated. If you move to Canada before your EAD expires, you can easily maintain your physical presence requirements in Canada to maintain PR. You get EAD for only 3 years max unless you switch to H-1B.Can you share your mail ID? I'm interested to know how it works.
Yep, it is. You are not obligated to move to Canada immediately after receiving CoPR. Just do the first landing within 1 year of medical otherwise you will have to do it again. And your PR status will not have any affect on your US visa. Move to canada before your EAD expires or when you need to because of residency requirements whichever is earlier. See - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=727&top=4My EAD is valid until January 2020. I was thinking of applying this year, which means it would come through by December 2018. I want to continue working in the US until my EAD expires in 2020 and then move to Canada. I don't know if that's possible.
No problem. I did not look for a job yet but will do in the near future and before I move. My move date is not concrete yet as my EAD is valid until summer next year. So I got some time. Thanks, that's useful info. How about a job though? Have you got one or do you plan to look for one once you move? Sorry for the third degree, but this information is really relevant and useful for me.
Have you got the PR already? Or are you planning to apply?I am planning to do the same. US EAD expires mid 2019
My WES is underway, will submit the profile as soon as I get the WES. How far along are you?Have you got the PR already? Or are you planning to apply?
