Can I apply for Worker TRV if I have visitor TRV to travel (urgent)

Hey guys,
I am currently on a work permit (pgwp) and its been 1.5 years since working. I never applied for a worker trv as I have always travelled on visitor TRV which I got even before study permit (10 yrs validity)
But now due to covid travel restrictions, only essential workers can travel?
So has anyone with valid visitor TRV applied for worker TRV?

If your TRV is still valid bring a copy of your lease and proof of current employment if you are trying to reenter Canada.
