Thank you rawdah for your response. :)
And now i have even a better question...what to do with money...i can have with me only 10000CAD. How to transfer rest of them? I still could leave them on my national bank account...but later transfer to a new account is pretty expensive...
what kind of options i have?

Hello to all
I'm confused I need some help.

Can I get the SIN number in Calgary Airport?
if yes is the answer do you know until what time the office it's open?

I'm looking for these information before I buy my airline ticket.

Thanks

I don't think you will get SIN from Calgary Airport.

You will get SIN from Service Canada in harry hays building - downtown or Service Canada in Marlborough mall. You can get the SIN the next day after landing from these centres.

You can carry as much money as you want on your first landing in Canada.

May i rent a flat still being in my home country?
Then i could provide visa officer with my new address at the airport and next day go straight to bank to open an account and go with all procedures...
1. Which bank in Calgary is the best for newcomers?
2. Which telecom company is the best to get my sim card? I need to have also internet on my mobile.

Best to rent once you here and see property yourself.

Sim card - for Alberta.
Best is Chatter (chatterwireless.com). For starting.
Also windmobile, mobilicity (if you got pentaband phone).

Once you been here few month u can always port your number to something better like Koodo or fido during black Friday or boxing day week promotion when they come up with best deals of year.

SIN PAPER & PR CARD

DEAR experts , I need help and advise.

Even after 29 days I havnt received my sin paper ( sin cards are not been issue these days). tried again and again by going to service Canada they say u will get in 8 weeks time . Tried to call related phone no response. on CIC website only phone no are given, no enquiry no/email given for related issue. Though it is written in CIC website in 20 business day u will get the sin paper posted at your address.

Second issue is PR card ; to my understand we get that in 30 days or 83 days - urgent application can also be made.
Third concern is if we want to leave Canada for 8 days with NO PR CARD but HAVE multiple visit visa can we RE-ENTRE ON VISIT VISA FROM HOME COUNTRY ?

kindly advise /Plz advise/suggest

Hi seniors, who has already settled in Calagary,

I am keep on hearing or seeing that Calgary economy/job scopes have been badly affected after oil prices drop. I believe that it has impacted directly in oil industries professionals. Now my question is; how is the reality impact in general? Is it true that even the industries like Media, retail, real states etc are affected and lessen jobs availability ??

Would appreciate your thoughts!!!!

Economy is greatly affected here in Calgary due to low oil prices. However, there may be still some scope in Industries such as IT, Accounting and retail.

Hi guys,

I'm coming to Canada at the end of July from Pakistan. Will someone guide me on the following:

1. What documents do I need to obtain from Pakistan for getting a driving license easily in Canada?
2. For my kids, which vaccination documents do I need to obtain? CIC has sent me stamped passports and COPRs, and nothing else.
3. How to prepare goods accompanied and goods to follow list? (Is there any specific format for it?)
4. Do I need to bring all the basic amount of money required for a family of 4? Or can I bring less than that?

Please guide. Thanks

1. Obtain experience letter / abstract of your Pakistan driver's license and an english translation of your driver's license if it is not in English.
2. Bring the immunization records of your kids. Also get the following document filled. http://www.chinacanada.ca/ss/down/immunization.pdf
3. Refer this link: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/form-b4-goods-to-followaccompanying-list-how-to-t44793.0.html
4. I know many people who brought about half of the money required and they had no issue during landing formalities.

anyone who has a young child here? I just want to ask what is your arrangement if both parents will be working. My daughter is only 3 yrs old and I'm thinking what will be our set-up if I also want to work. I heard that there are childcare centres in Calgary. Hope you can share your experiences and ideas. Thanks in advance!

I also want to settle in Calgary. :) I only just received my ITA, so nothing is definite at all, but I have to get there somehow!

There are many childcare centre in Calgary. Cost around $1000 per month. Low income family get Govt child care subsidy and after that the cost is around $500 per month.
