Calculation for Canadian Experience

For Canadian experience, for instance, I have worked for one position for 4 months. And now, I want to change my job, so there could be a few months gap. For instance, the gap is 2 months which I haven't worked. Then I find a new job in another company and then I will work for 8 months. So 4+8=12, doesn't that count for 1 year Canadian experience? Or there should be no gap in between?

There is no need for Canadian experience to be continuous anymore, so gaps are fine (as are NOC changes as long as the experience is in NOC codes 0, A or B).
Thanks. So now matter how long the gap is, the cumulative Canaidan work experience is 1 year, then it'll just be fine, right?

The gap doesn't matter, but only work experience gained in the last 3 years prior to ITA is counted.
