Good Luck Sheila la I can't wait to see your happy tears lol I will pray for you :) :) :)

Spiritz, it seems i can't write the whole message in one reply cuz it has a specific number of letters and i can't write many replies after each other in the thread cuz it's kinda security restrictions, maybe if send me ur email in a message i would send it to you, although i wanted to post it here so it could be useful to everyone.

and Shelia la Congrats! i hope you're husband will pass the interview successfuly and get his visa soon, but why they're asking for these evidence, haven't you sent them when u first sent your file? or they're asking for them again?

Good luck!

Spirit

Thanks Louisa and Spiritz

Yes, we provided all the documents they named in the email, except of course communication since I submitted the app. It's okay, we'll provide them with what they ask for. Maybe we should send photos we didn't send before but I really don't remember which photos I sent.

Any suggestions for the interview would be appreciated.

Sheila!

Congratulations!! You must be so excited. I know I would be. I have one question about your post; you mention the documents that he was asked to bring to the interview.....

My husband and I sent all that in with the original application so things like airline tickets and photos and phone bills and emails are all included in the pacckage. They also have a notarized copy of the marriage certificate in both English and Arabic. Will he be asked to provide those again??

Gahhhh, I am so amazed about the level of inefficiency evidenced by this whole process. Letters saying the application is sent to Cairo, phonecalls confirming it never was, a letter five MONTHS after a phonecall to immigration confirmed they had the package and it was marked received to let me know that finally (on paper) they have it and also supply us with a UCID number.......

I swear, when this is all over, I''m running for immigration minister. :P

Will you all vote for me? :)

Okay Sheila, I have a dumb question too...... ;D

I can't work out how to change my statistics with regards to where I'm at in the process. I clicked on my profile 'pic' and I got my profile up, but can't see any way to modify the existing information.......

Also you said you were working on a timeline sheet for everyone? I'd be really interested to see that. I'm trying to figure out what the REAL average wait time is. I've seen many different speeds of processing and am trying to work out an average.......

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Dominique

I'm guessing they want to see the original marriage certificate to make sure it is real as in the package they only ask for a certified copy. This way they can compare the original to the certified copy.

Photos, I'm not sure about because I did submit photos, not copies. I also submitted a copy of my boarding pass. He will also print off our chats since I came back and send those.

By the way, I don't know whether to be excited or scared. A denial and appeal will just add time that makes this so much more depressing.

Hi Madamadam,

You'll find the sheet at shelia la's signature, there's a link down there in her posts, open it, and click download
You can modify your info by clicking at your username then at the left under "modify profile" click at "forum profile information"

Shelia la, i have just seen the timlines you made for us, it's great! thanks a lot!

Dominique,in your profile in the modify profile information, select forum profile information and you will find the fields at the bottom of the screen. Hope this helps...

Also for statistics of averages, if you click on the link at the bottom of my posts, it will take you to a spreadsheet I created.

Awesome! I am going to check it out now!!

Don't be scared Sheila. After this long wait I pray everything goes smoothly. I keep praying for a miracle because they seem like such heartless robots in inmmigration. :( I suffered the death of both of my parents in this year and his one remaining parent died in May. We are totally alone without each other.

I feel so much like abandoning everything and just going to Egypt some days. I have a life and a job and it all seems totally empty without him to share it with. He is depressed about our separation too and we seem to balance each other out because there are days when I say "Forget it, I'm coming" and he reminds me of all the time and effort that we put into the immigration process and then there are the days when HE says "Forget it, come to me" and I have to remind him of the same.

I wrote to the Minister of Immigration and the Prime Minister of Canada's offices and I am disgruntled to find that I didn't even get a reply. Even a "Nope.....we won't help you" would have been better than the total poke in the eye that being ignored turns out to be.

I think for a lot of us, the frustration is built on being mainly people of action. We are used to taking an action and seeing an equal and opposite reaction. We all have been through jumping the fiery hoops, demands, letters, translations, affadavits, money......and then......nothing. For months on end.

It's maddening.

Does anyone have a quantifiable 'average' time from the date applications are received? I know it says 12 months on the CIC website, but I understand it can take less time. Anyone?

Sheila, Magnificent spreadsheet.

Would you add my husband and I to it?

You can put it under my name; Dominique

Stats so far are this:

Sent Application April 7 2011
Received Sponsorship approval May 07, 2011
File forwarded to Cairo....not.

August; confirmed with Immigration receipt of file as of May 19/2011
September 28, received letter stating file was sent to Ottawa, not Cairo, lists start date as May 07/2011
Meds were done February 2010
Nothing more to report.

I'm PRAYING before the New Year. Our file was very complete. We hired an immigration lawyer to see to that. I didnt trust myself to not miss something and have to start all over again or encounter uneccassary holdups.

We had so much in our file that they actually sent some stuff back with the sponsorship approval......lol.

Insha'allah we will be together sooner than later.

Anyone ever notice how if you make a mistake you don't see it until after you hit 'enter' or 'submit'??

LOL

His meds were done February 2011, not 2010. ;D

and thank you Spirit; I managed to get my profile fixed up with your advice on how to.

:P

Sheila, I found another spreadsheet that was on another thread. It's colour coded and really easy to read. I am pasting the link to it in case you can 'borrow' the idea to colour ours up a bit? Hope it helps. :P

Thanks madamadam, I'll take a closer look and see how I can modify our sheet.
