Guys,

Ottawa is redirecting all resources towards CEC cases. I am not sure if they are at all interested in working FSW cases. There are cases which are in progress and there cases which are shipped from buffalo...God knows if they will even open those boxes.

We could only wait until they start working on those cases ..

FSW2 cases ( with arrange employment) get 3 year / 2 year WP and if the PR is finalized within that period of time, there is hassle of extending WP and there is chances of rejection as well...and in that case your FSW case gets void - In all ..the purpose seems to be defeated here ..

Guys,

When you get medical exams request, is it by mail and also you receive information by email or only mail?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex, I received the medical exam request both by e-mail and regular mail.

Cheers

Hello,

I am in a strange situation. I applied for PR in June 2010. My VO was Buffalo. I moved out of USA in March 2012. Stayed in India till June 2012 and then moved to Manila. All of these moves are because of my job assignments.

Before moving out of US, I requested USPS to forward my mails to a friend of mine in US.

My friend called me last week (Nov 8 2012) saying that I received a letter from Canada Immigration and when I asked him to check what is inside, I came to know that it is Medicals request + Police Certificate request to be sent within 90 days from the date on the letter. The problem is the date on the letter is April 27 2012. It took that long for USPS to forward my mail. Did not receive any email when the medicals were sent out. I was sending emails to Ottawa email id all along and they updated my address from US to India, but did not update the Manila address.

I am not sure what to do now? Online status still shows that my application is in process. Had sent a mail to Ottawa email id with my situation and no response yet. Is there any contact number that anyone is aware of? Should I go ahead and get the Medicals and request for Police Certificate?

Any thoughts/suggestions/comments are welcome.

Get an immigration lawyer... immediately

Some new information has come from unconfirmed sources that all FSW In-Canada applications will be transferred under CEC to open up FSW for out of Canada Applications. Now I do not know whether this is a rumor or not but as I stated it is unconfirmed from a source that works in the immigration department. The criteria would be that if you have worked in Canada for more than 1 year you will be automatically transferred under this program from January 2013.

I will keep everyone updated as and when there is more information.

Deepak,

What is source of our information?

I think this is a good news for those who are working in Canada for years right?
but do we need to update them with how many years we have been working in Canada?, cause when I submitted the application I wasn,t yet working for two years but now it has been 4 years.

This is officially not yet announced ..and it does not detail out the technicality.

FSW will be transferred to CEC ..does not mean anything to me ..as both are ways for applying PR, the requirements are different and timelines are different. Will the transfer require applicants to send extra documentations to support their FSW to CEC transferred cases... This is ridiculous!! .

Probably CIC might see lot of FSW(in canada applicants) strated applying under CEC.

Its waste of money yeah!!!

Ram Sir,

If this happens then they are going to give priority to FSW cases turned to CEC and the existing CEC aplications will get delayed.

Not a good news for them who have applied CEC this year ( After june ....and have received MR).

What do you think?

Not a good news for anybody... most of the FSW MI1 have even done their medicals and instead of this sachems, it would be much easier for every one to have their PPRs and their cases be close down...

trust me, they will change their mind half way through...

Well, it is very logical to do it as in-Canada applicants are waiting for up to 30 months already and as they all have valid work permits, they are in the same situation as Canadian Experience Class applicants. And CEC processing time is 14 month now. But the thing is that CEC has 10k cap per year and FSW 55k.

I did not see information that anyone who applied after 26 June 2010 (when MI2 took place) under FSW1 or FSW2 received medical exams request or passport request, so definitively CPP-Ottawa is finishing MI1 applicants and a lot of cases from May and June 2010 were resolved already (in Oct-Nov 2012).

What will happen after they are done with 80% of MI1 applicants? Probably we will know about it during the January 2013. And it will be either transfer of in-Canada applicants under CEC or something similar. This is the only way that I see that they can get rid of 100k FSW backlog during 2013 having only 55k cap. If this happens all applicants who applied in July-Dec 2010 will get their medical requests during the very beginning of 2013 and will be resolved right away (without backlog I mean, as all processing of the application takes 4-7 months) (I guess till the middle of 2013).

@those_who_complain: Don't complain, life is fair. Sometimes we get lucky (and apply under PNP), sometimes not. You have a right to come back to motherland anytime.
