I believe the IELTS is valid for 2 years..i guess u still have 6 months before it expires... As yoesmite said, it might take 12 months or less for CEC but again it depends ..if you have lived in many countries in the past then it may delay a bit for all those verifications by CIC..
Looking at the momentum the cic -ottawa is working at this moment, its not encouraging - even CEC might take atleast a year but its a sure shot!
And what is caips notes?

I almost agree with what you say. Let me wait until to see what caips notes say about my file.

Also Right now am not willing to spend another $1250 for me & my family to apply under cec.

And do the whole process again, its painful.

I really do not know why, after this civic holiday weekend, i became so optimistic, that i will get something before this winter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry i forget this link below about Caips.

My application was submitted in March 2011 in FSW category too. The file was transferred to Buffalo in April 2011 and later to Ottawa in June 2012 and it was on 12th June 2012 that I was asked not to enquire on the status until further 60 days.

But guys why are we concerned here when the Immigration Canada is scheduled to clear the backlog by December 2012 right?

@ glowing heart: If you did go to Minister's office, please let us know if they are speeding up the process holding any further intakes

Thanks,

Hello Everyone,

I have filed my application with Buffalo VO. I have received my PER on Feb 7, 2012. Since then, I have not heard from Buffalo. I know they are closed now and some people have already heard from Ottawa office.

Do you guys have any idea before we start to hear from Ottawa? and also about the approximate time taken for processing the applications?

Sarat

Hi,

I recieved an email from CPP-O yesterday stating that as they recieved high correspondence, they are unable to provide the status on my application. If the officer needs any information, they will contact, etc etc...

This means that my file has finally reached CPP-O after long silient wait since May 2012.

My timelines are on the left in the signature.

Regards,
Shiv

Raj,

Dont waste even a single day, its expensive.

Request your HR to start advertising for your position now in JOBBANK.GC.CA & in local classifieds.

After 2 weeks, Request your HR again to apply for LMO. Meanwhile you need not wait for it.

Start today and apply for workpermit for you & applicable permit for your family members. You can do it online.

When you get your positive LMO upload it online.

If you really act fast you should get your workpermit hopefully in next 3-4 months.

Good luck.

Please do not panic. You have done medicals. Its like you file is 90% thru. Its only the question of timeline, for which no body could even make a wild guess.

If you need money for living, you got to find some employer who can apply LMO for you. If not get an Vistor Record, continue to stay in canada.

If you don't mind, based on the place you stay, you can find Cash jobs (even i did Dominos pizza delivery for a while)

Also i Hope you got full 2 years of Experience in canada. If so do not worry, even if FSW turns negative, You will eligible under CEC.

Even if you choose to go back to your country, you may be still able to apply under CEC, which is very fast & you get PR in 6-8 months.

My case is very similar, My employer just started advertising effort to get LMO, mine expires on March 2013. If it turns negative i will go back to my country (or) Stay here on vistor record & will apply under CEC.

Please believe,Everything happens is for good sake only.

Hi,
Just to share my experience. I'm a Quebec-selected FSW applicant.
I obtained my CSQ on April 15, 2011.
On July 13, 2011, I applied for Permanent Residence at the Buffalo Visa Office. I was in Canada under a work permit at the time, and my work permit will expire on 01/Dec/2012.
On November 07, 2011, I received the medical exams request, together with indications that the request came from CPP-Ottawa.
On November 15, 2011, I undertook the medical exams.
On January 17, 2012, I emailed the Buffalo Visa Office inquiring for an status update. They forwarded my application to CPP-Ottawa and I received response from Ottawa saying that my application was in process. ECAS has never changed from "Application Received" to anything else.
On July 07, 2012, I emailed CPP-Ottawa asking for an update on my application, but they did not reply.
On August 08, 2012, I applied for my CAIPS notes.

If there is anyone here with a similar timeline, I would love to share my experiences. I am getting frustrated with the lack of updates in E-cas, and with the lack of responsiveness from CPP-Ottawa... I don't want to think that they won't reply until the 15 months of estimated processing time have lapsed. Anyone here has attempted to contact CPP-Ottawa for updates before the estimated processing time is up? For me, 15 months will mean December 2012.

Thank you for your feedback. Best of luck everyone!

Hi Hagbard85,

You can see my timeline to the left on my profile.

My ecas also never changed from Appl Revd.

Atleast you got Medicals done. I havent heard anything after AOR. Even few of the members got 2nd AOR from Buffalo& a file #starting with B.

I have got nothing so far. Patience is the only medicine we have now.

All the best.
