Hello guys....

My file has been submitted to Nova scotia on july, 2011 and file no is been generated in October'2011. my ecas status shows it is still in process. I submitted my all documents together.

Now Since Buffalo office is closed and files have been transferred to CPP-O.... I emailed them about my application status couple of weeks ago, have not got any reply yet.

If anyone can advise, how long will it take to get PR, my status in USA is still student andm waiting to get PR ASAP to move there..

To be honest with you nobody knows
There are a bunch of 2010 Applicants in this group and many of us including myself are applying from Canada
My case id from 2010 got med request last march and juat waiting for ppr
When we applied the waiting time was supposed to be 9 to 12 months And shorter if you lived in canada with a full time job

I live in canada as a foreign worker since 2008 have. Steady job and and been waiting 28 months

My file went in process last year in january and then changed inside to we started processing your file on feb this year

so who knows

Hi Glowing Heart,

This indeed is a very sad & frustating situtation.....

Since I applied in mid 2011 & Im living outside Canada with Buffalo as my VO(now I guess Ottawa) I suppose if everything goes alright it willstill take another year and a half for my Canada PR to arrive(God will).... So I guess patience for another 18 months.

However I would like to ask you, about the job market in Canada. I have heard from family friends, jobs are not as readily availablee as in USA. I have been working in USA from last 5 yrs. Would you have any idea about IT(DBA jobs). How do you find work envt, is it too strict:) Do one have to start their career from the scratch & no past work experience counts:). Is career growth in jobs very slow/stagnant. Because Im wondering people after so much of hardship(getting PR) also return back from Canada with an year.

Maybe my answer will sound too Canadian

The economy in canada is way better than the us its by far a better country
Now about experience if you have 5 years of experience in the us that will count
But you will still need to gain your canadian experience

I came here cause a canadian company brought me here so i had a job before taking my first flight
And aftr 2 years other companies started making me offers and changes my employer

I know that IT is a very satuated market but every company hires it techs
Yes you myhave to start from the bottom of the pile but if you have skills and talen you will shine And be on tOp of the pile in no time

It also depends on the province you want to move to i know that alberta is a great market in it and pil and gas
My area is concert production im a sound engenieer so i wont know about finding it jobs
Try searching on monster . Com and take a look

@glowing heart: :)Thanks for your input.

The one thing which is a universal fact is the luck, I know many people I were on comparison some are far beyond the expectation, anyway try using your experience and education on different website including jobbank.ca

Hope for the best future & living.

Any applicant got any update from Ottawa, it's really frustrated now :(

Hi Glowing Heart,

Since you are in canada on work permit from 2008, i would like to ask you this question.

My case is also very similar like yours, i came in 2009 & had a job before my first flight. After an year i changed to diffrent employer.

During my change of employer, My HR had little hardtime in convincing the SC officer to get positive opinion.

Now, Its almost time for workpermit renewal. And i am sticking to the same company.

In your opinion, will LMO can be given for the same employer (like extension)?

Lot of Stress my friend. Couldn't able to decide anything about the future.

it shouldn't be a problem but they have to act fast, cause it takes a long time
they have to advertise your job in a goverment site and then submit your application the same as if you never worked there
i did it last year and got a lmo for 2 years (my employer asked for a permanent one)

so you mean you got LMO for the same employer again. That's good. Actually My workpermit expires on March 2013. But they started advertising this week. Is this enough early to start LMO process?

I will let my HR know about asking for 2 years.

By the way is there LIMIT on No of years on Workpemit. Someone told me, we will be given for 5 YEARS only in TOTAL? Is that True?

Can we be here in canada on workpermit for more than 5 years?

Also what do you think of applying under CEC? I have seen in this forum, a guy applied in Oct'2011 under CEC landed in April 2012?????

Also you have any idea about Privacy act in canada to get CAIPS/GCMS?FOSS Notes?

I applied for one, but it would take atleast 30 calender days to get responce.

there is a time limit that a foreign worker can be here but the year count starts i think feb 2011
about applying for CEC i think that my case is much closer tobe finalized tan a new application
they requested my meds in march and did them so they have to be in the final BG checks that can take from 1 week to a year ???

what i believe it will happen that they I can close this long chapter before winter

I have never applied for CAIPS when I was going to apply Buffalo closed so i knew everything was on hold

just have patience Ottawa wont be any different than Buffalo its still around 20 guys working in over 5000 files
the only positive is that new applications are on hold so they are not accepting new ones
this will help

Thank you so much for all your explanation, wish you all good luck with rest of your process in landing.

one thing that I will do for sure if my file stays the same once the summer vacations are over (september)
is to Contact my local MP who happens to be Jason Kenney and ask about my file cause september marks the date that buffalo received my full docs and its 6 months after my meds

How easy is that to contact the Local MP? Any procedure?

Becuase mine will be Tony Clement.
