in order to know the current situation of your file, you need to send an email to Ottawa: ottpilot-immigration @ cic.gc.ca
Or by calling to CIC call centre agents, they will let you know for sure.

Just wanted to ask from you guys, have anyone got RCMP request for finger print? I was asked and did in July-2011 which has been received to Buffalo after that I contacted with them for my marriage certificate and my new born's birth certificate which I submitted it electronically. Now last month contact to Ottawa for my renewed Passport copy & new work permit which I submitted Ottawa, other than that I don't have any info, I guess later in this month we will start receiving any news from Ottawa.

as far as I remember the rules when I applied said that they will request the RCMP clearance if they consider it necessary
when they requested my meds they said they didn't need any additional docs so I dont know if they will request them or not I do remember that there was a form authorizing CIC to get any police certificates

You can email ottawa to know the status (atleast confirm if your file is processed from ottawa)..alternatively, you may call the call center..

I have already done that and my file is in Ottawa since July. I am wondering how long will it take now to hear from them? They give the automated email response..

Hey I am new to this page and I am also sailing in the same boat. Applied for PR in October, 2011 and got acknowledgement in December, 2011. After that, got an RCMP fingerprinting request in Feb,2012. I even sent the fingerprints with the file but still they again asked. And, now I dont know that whether my file has been tranferred to Ottawa or still it is in Buffalo. If I check online status, its showing up, Your Permanent Residence File recieved on october,2011. I got no update from the Ottawa people yet. Waiting for some action eagerly....Can anybody tell how much time it will take more??? waiting sucks...

Hi,
I appled in FSW mar 2012 and doc received i may 2010. i got letter from Buffalo office to send Police varifications, in the mean time i heard Buffalo office is closed. so i sent my doc to Ottava CPP-O Ottawa. But i sent my papers to temporary resident office and its received. So what can i do now? if somebody can assit me.
