in general they reply the same day. if you have not got any reply for two or three days...contact them over phone...

Could you mention the resource where you figure out that while living in Canada we don't need to pay anything for GCMS or CAPIS?

I read from CIC website that we need to pay $5 in order to get GCMS.

Hi Nadeem,

If you live inside canada(means if you have valid residency proof document-like workpermit) its free, its called privacy act.

If not someone you know who live in canada can apply for you, (after you give them concent form) its $5, its called Access to information act.

has any 2010 applicants getting any updates from Ottawa after closing of Buffalo? I am feb 2010 applicant, and tired of waiting for PPR. Since the Buffalo VO is closed, it seems our files are stuck after then? Anyone with any updates of Ottawa movements?

Hello friends,

My status was changed to "Your application was reviewed and we started processing on May 15, 2012" I had applied in May 2010. Now since the buffalo office is closed and applications are forwarded to ottawa, is there a way to check the status. Since on the cic website it says your status will not be updated and I also wrote a letter to ottawa office and they replied that due to high volume of processing they are not able to tell me anything, a concerned officer will contact if necessary!!!
Just wondering what is going on? I had arranged employment as well. Its too frustrating.
any body with the same experience? your suggestions are welcome.

You already got your meds done, thats good! congrats! PPR should be there soon then. I still have no update since the last one. Extremely frustrated! I read you had to resubmit some test results... was that ielts? I submitted them along with the initial application, is it necessary to resubmit it? This has become the worst wait ever.

for me they said it takes 30 days to get an update. I have two more weeks to get some update....
may be you get with in few weeks..

I got an answer from my MP that "I speak to CIC regarding your file and your file is awaiting to be assigned to an officer. Nothing is done on your file yet. Please follow up in three months if you do not hear from CIC". I am glad that they replied so fast but wait is the thing I got from them. Gud luck to all

Congrats Nadeem. Do you think you went In process coz ur MP contacted ottawa? none of the other 2011 files seem to be in process...i am wondering if I should also contact the MP. Do I need to send them an email? or call up directly? Thanks for your help.
