Just now I spoke to my MP's office and they say the same. my application is not assigned to any officer yet and file is transferred on July to Ottawa. I can expect a reply from them by July 2013.

I just have to stop expecting any mails or news from CIC.

HI SYED I GOT SAME REPLY FROM MY MP THAT IS MY FILE IS IN OTTAWA AND ITS NOT ASSIGNED YET TO ANY OFFICER AND WHEN FILE WILL GET NEW NUMBER THEN ITS GONNA PROCESS.

HI Raj,
I guess that is standard answer that all MP's are given now from Ottawa.
I suggest you to get the work visa only. I am not sure if you get visitor or study visa if that affects your application.
I applied for work visa extension, will get my results by next month. If I get rejected I am planning to go back.

Please check if any other forum members gone through the same situation.

My work visa will also be expiring soon?
So we need a LMO for work permit extension or do we merely supply our permanent job offer for extension.

If I am unable to get a work permit extension I will apply under CEC.

Hi,

I experienced the same issue few months ago as last year my employer applied to extend my WP but that got rejected due to lack of requirements (job advertising issue) to get positive LMO, I was under Implied status & got rejection letter to leave Canada within 30 days, I already prepare my application for Visitor Visa as my I got married here, and lodge my application for Visitor Record which I got for 6 months meanwhile my employer tried again to get positive LMO which we also receive it then I applied WP again from Buffalo at the start of this year (I guess in May2012) and surprisingly I got WP within 8 days (passport mailed to my home address) I guess this is an exception at least form Buffalo . Anyway, then I reached to Niagara border to take my WP and I get it in 3 hours (including Canada exit & entry again).
Now my WP is good for May-2014 even my employer applied for 12 months I think this is enough time to process my PR application.

That's all my story, I hope you guys will get your turn.

Why it takes so looooooooooooooog for them to process? What I need is only pp request then submit it then visa, done. Is there anyone who knows what their current timeline is? I heard sb. said Feb 2012 due to operation requirements??? Is that true or not?

Your situation is much better than mine. You at least have a job now in CA. I don't. I submitted my file so early in May 2010, already got medical exams completed, but still nothing comes out! What happened? At least give us some tangible timeline, please!

i believe lots of us are in the same boat, ive been living here in Canada for over 4 years working and still waiting
applied over 2 years ago the last I heard from my MP is that they expect to have my file done by Jan 2013

it sucks that i still have to wait but at least i have a ate to look up to
now the priority is the PNP backlog then hopefully us

if you are here for more than 2 years on work why did not you apply under CEC. you would have got your PR with in a year.

its a long story but to make it short when I applied the Buffalo timeline was 9 months and CIC didn't say anything about the CEC timeline because it was so new in fact I believe that program started 1 or 2 months before I submited my application
the call centre said to call it safe they think it can be 12 months

also I didn't had my tax returns (t4) filed for the past 2 years so i needed to do the taxes and then once I get the CRA tax return apply

but anyways Im still in Canada with over 12 more months of work permit waiting for PPR and if by june next year im not a PR my company will apply for a new LMO and WP

I believe things happen for a reason so I dont worry about the past and or future just the present

Yes, things happens for a reason and all that happens is for our good only.
I guess by next year mid all applications are going to close.
Now CEC need only one year work experience in Canada and they said they are going to process fast.

I have a question about CEC. is it mandatory to write IELTS exam ?

as far as I know it is and the score has to be over x amount of points

Caips notes doesn't show everything!!!

Hi Lottie! I requested Caips notes and received it today.But something
is outstanding on my file.They have not started my Security &
Criminality Checks yet! It's the international security check done by
CSIS.This normally takes months.Can you please check up on them,if you
have the time.I have to plan for the next couple of months and if this
is still outstanding then it will be a long wait! You also mentioned
that my file is not yet assigned to a case officer.Can we do something
about this or is it up to Ottawa and there's nothing we can do about
it?
I tried to email Ottawa myself but they ignored my emails.

I spoke with Citizenship and Immigration on Friday and the criminal checks are done. They expired in 2011 but because you are in Canada they did a RCMP name check.

I will send an message to the visa office asking if they can examine the file as it appears ready for final review - they might agree, or they might say it has to be dealt with in order. But it doesn't hurt to ask!
