BG checks are usually done 5 in months-6 months after they are initiated. It does not mean CIC will give us PPR as soon as the BG checks are done. I think we can contact CSIS and ask them about the status of our BG checks. I think there is something on their website about that. If you are a Pre- Setp. 2011 and still waiting I think you are chosen for BG checks, like me.
I think you all should read this article

No. But I paid RPRF and sent updated personal history in Feb, 2013. Today it changed to 'In Process since May 31, 2013'. Which country are you form? Are you from a visa exempt country? Or did you travel to other countries after you applied? I am assuming you are all in Canada.

I paid RPRF in March, Updated PH was requested in April
Im from India, No I didn't travel any other country except India and that to for 10 days.

I'm from India too. It's interesting that they asked you the copies of your passports. I can't even guess why.

thanks for the link.

Hi CIC Victim,

Can you apply for PR under 2 different categories? Or did you withdraw your PNP Buffalo application and re-submitted it under CEC?
I am also Nov 2011 applicant still waiting for my PPR. Please let me know. Thanks.

Yes you can have PR applications processed under two different streams, as long as you are eligible to apply and willing pay all fees twice. You don't have to withdraw your first application when you file the second one. The two applications will be processed seperately.
I filed CEC end of August 2012 and received PPR end of May 2013, in total 9 months and 4 days. :( Now you can see how unfair this system is and you should be able to understand how I went numb in this 24 months wait and why I can never get rid of the feeling that life being ruined even after the PPR.

Hi, I have been requested to pay rprf and send a copy of my passport. Can I send a scanned copy via email or do I have to send them a photocopy by regular post?

Thanks for your reply :) my passport got expired, I didn't send them the renewed copy later. So then need the updated version of my passport.

Do you know how long might it take them to issue my ppr after I send in my documents? On my gcms note I see that all things are passed - security, eligibility, criminal, medical. Was wondeeing how long it will take them to take the next step
