Hi guys,
I received my and my wifes passports with the stamped visas on Tuesday May 28th and we did landing on the night of 29th from Rainbow Bridge, Niagara. :)

I see there are some pre-sept 2011 people here who are still awaiting PPR.I want to tell you guys to stay strong;believe me you are closer than you think. Stay in touch with you MP as in my case i was told by my MP to wait till summers and then contact her and she would investigate the cause of delay.
I had a wonderful time here on the forum esp. this thread with all the morale support and useful advice.I will remain a contributor here and will continue to see how soon the pre-sept files are done.

Hang in, you are almost there.

Why are you confusing people? This page is just for Provencal and Quebec applicant but you have applied through Federal Skill Worker. It's obvious that different categories have different timelines.
Please look at the page "BUFFALO APPLICANTS - File transferred to other VO due to Buffalo closing down", it is not just about the Provincial and Quebec Applicants.

In the provencial forum!

Hello All,

It would be great if any of you who already had PR or know people who did to share the timeline it took for the security screening stage. From my understanding, it starts after you pass your medicals (when the officer has been assigned to it)

So far, mine has been taking 6 months, and I was told that it might take another 6 months, but I just want to clarify it a bit.

Thank you in advance

Is ur file in process?

Hi longest_wait, who told you that it might take another 6 months?? I am asking because my security screening is also started 6 months ago.

BG checks are usually done 5 in months-6 months after they are initiated. It does not mean CIC will give us PPR as soon as the BG checks are done. I think we can contact CSIS and ask them about the status of our BG checks. I think there is something on their website about that. If you are a Pre- Setp. 2011 and still waiting I think you are chosen for BG checks, like me.

How do you know your security started 6 months ago?

@prabz - were you asked to undergo medical or provide a new PCC before your ecas started showing in process?

Hey Edmontonbound - No they didn't asked for medical nor PCC but they requested copies of passport of Principal applicant and me (spouse) and updated Personal history of PA.

Did they ask you anything yet?

No. But I paid RPRF and sent updated personal history in Feb, 2013. Today it changed to 'In Process since May 31, 2013'. Which country are you form? Are you from a visa exempt country? Or did you travel to other countries after you applied? I am assuming you are all in Canada.
