BUFFALO APPLICANTS - File transferred to other VO due to Buffalo closing down

Hi yk, I am a March 2012 applicant as well. I did medical examination on 31 May 2012. I have another 2 friends on the same timelines. We don't have any updates from Ottawa until today. As you said, I assume there is NO officer has been assigned to our files at all. I will send email to Ottawa soon, let us see what will happen. We should take care of that problem jointly.

I dont understand why ottawa is doing this. my friend applied just a month before in feb and got his PR in oct, and for us we have been waiting for almost a year. I tried emailing them but same generic reply. I dont know how to deal with this problem.

I applied as skilled worker in 2010 to buffalo but by the time they started processing the file in Jan 2012, my pnp was approved, so I apllied to CPP-O. then buffalo office closed and i dont know what happened to my first file.

for me it has been three frustrating years i have been waiting for this.

Finally got some update ottawa. They asked me to submit my personal history.

I am june 2011 applicant

Hope i will get passport request soon!!!

I applied online to extend my work permit, but I haven't received any confirmation email saying that my application was transmitted.
I was wondering how long it takes, because before (2010) I applied online and I remember that I got an email right away with the confirmation that my application was transmitted and the application number.

They asked me to submit my personal history, payment of $490 and pcc, I have an issue here do i need to submit my indian pcc or both from india and canada, since i did my indian pcc i have not visited india so i think they do not need indian pcc, plzz guys suggest me in this problem...

Congrats. Did you do anything special to trigger them to look at your file faster ?

My friend who is a july 2011 applicant got a similar kind of response from the callcenter. But they give him little bit of more information like his daughter and his medicals have been extended but wife's medicals are still in process. Also some security clearances are still under process. He was told that he will get an update within the next 10 days.

I have been trying to call them and cannot get an agent to address me because of high volume of calls.

I live in USA for five year as an international student, am no longer staying there I am in my home country now. Is it possible to apply for the FbI police certificate while in my home country. Thanks

The FBI form clearance can be obtained if u visit the website (http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/background-checks/list-of-fbi-approved-channelers) you can also obtain this directly from FBI. But since u r in your home country, pls contact them directly and find out the best way to go about this. Keep in mind that my clearance took 14 weeks (July 2010).

The rule of thumb is once u submit a clearance from FBI or PC from your home country, u r not required submit another one if u haven't stayed in that country for 6 months or more. If u visit it for a month or a few weeks, there is no reason to get another one and the request is senseless from the Immigration office. This is what my MP's executive assistant told me.
