Nega,

If your renewing your permit to stay legal here then actually you don't need to renew your visitor permit because your status now in Canada is implied because your file is in process for PR. You are legal here until you bear the final decission however there are certain restrictions of this status, you cannot work or study same as visitor. And after you get your PR with implied status you will not be eligible to sign your landing papers in CIC office for that you have to go to border. My friend's wife was on implied status for a year that's why I know this.

Thanks a lot shaikhaffi, you have been so helpful.

Thanks Lyman. I feel that you will get your PPR in the near future, since one of my friend who had her AOR in mid sept 2011 received her PPR today.

I am a late november 2011 AOR candidate. So I am estimating I might get PPR before end of Jan or beginning of Feb 2012.

To be the next, is really nice.
I have friends who are more deserved to have it before me.
have waited long for so long time far from beloved ones.

At least, I am busy with my job, sitting next to my love at home.
I can feel how harsh it could be for some fellas around.

I thought you could not stay here with no temporary permit like study or work.
That is strange. I heard you might be in trouble in the border when they will look at your file and find you have stayed with no permits

but what you say makes sense some how

Did you know when your BG checks started?

Same email got today. Hopefully soon.

Looks like they have done all checks on your file and your file is in queue to be finally reveiwed by the agent and meantime they have requested your medical extension, again extension is in the queue as well. It is the matter of time when they will open up your file and issue PPR. Based on CIC's performanced these days, it shouldn't take too long.

Hi Pal, is there a way to find out from the GCMS notes that we are picked for extra screening? In your GCMS notes is the Group Name key equal to PR-Final review?

No bud, there is no straightforward way through GCMS you can find out the BG checks because they are hidden however sometimes they leave marks on Modified Date or Due Date under security section of GCMS, may be you get some rought idea from it. Group Name in my GCMS is: PR Waiver, i don't know what does that mean. I have asked this question in different forums but no one know exactly. I am not from visa exempt country so i don't understand what does waiver means here. Whats the group name in your GCMS?
