How do you guys put your timeline and a picture below your name? I've been trying to find this option for a while.

I think you need to have certain number of posts before you can do that. Click Profile and then forum profile information..

Thats the difference here.. she is looking for an open permit based on her husbands work permit. I dont think that quite works. You should clarify with CIC

Thank you shaikhaffi,
As I mentioned before my husband is unemployed, If I want to apply based on his work permit they need his job confirmation. Have you been employed when you applied for your wife's WP?
I called CIC today they said I can apply for WP. And it is better to attach a letter that my husband doesn't have a job. The representative was not sure that they will accept my application or not.

I dont hope this happens but want to know if there is a quota completion for QSW for the year of 2012. I am a DEC 2011 Med with AUG 2011 Application.
recent PPR is an encouragement but realistically so many of us are stuck in this delay.

words of encouragement folks... really required.

Hello Nega,

Yes i was employeed when I applied for my wife's permit, your case is little bit different in a sense that your husband doesn't have job but he has valid Work Permit that's why I asked you to conform with CIC. I don't remeber exactly whether or not i submitted proof of employement when i was applying for my wife's work permit what i remember for sure is I applied her work permit based on my post graduate work permit but don't remember exactly if i submitted the employement letter. I would say its worth trying it, or what you can do is, arrange an offer letter than apply - it will make your case strong for sure.

it looks like shaikhaffi is taking sharuu post/designation here on this forum----nice to see another person as active as sharuu

Yes my case is different, and also my visitor visa will expire soon. I think it's better to play safe and renew my visitor status for now and have hope to receive PR soon.

Nega,

If your renewing your permit to stay legal here then actually you don't need to renew your visitor permit because your status now in Canada is implied because your file is in process for PR. You are legal here until you bear the final decission however there are certain restrictions of this status, you cannot work or study same as visitor. And after you get your PR with implied status you will not be eligible to sign your landing papers in CIC office for that you have to go to border. My friend's wife was on implied status for a year that's why I know this.
