did they give you travel document like if u want to fly now because i came to know that either you need to have a pr card or travel document while returning to canada even though you have pr stamped passport. how have you disclosed your funds like i mean to say have you taken your bank statements with you or just with what you have with you at that time?

thanks

Ecas still the same....we'll next week.

@ mast
they told me about the document to travel. i mentioned that i want to go on vacation mid-december...and she said the card should arrive 4-6 weeks from now...if not...somebody can send it to me in germany and i just come back using the PR card. The COPR, (according to her) doesn't even get me back to canada, i need the card or the document from the embassy. (even if their website states, that Visa exempt countries (Germany is one of them) can use the COPR to get back..but looks like its not true, anyway, i won't take the risk to go to the airport and get denied then, i prefer to change my ticket)

Congratulations on your landing!

i just read that can u tell me which funds are being mentioned in this post? from what i understood, that pr card can be mailed by one of your collegaues in your absence at your german address and then you have to show that while coming back right?

i am just wondering that why they have not given you travel doc when they know that you are leaving in mid dec and by that time u wont have ur card.

thanks

Landing Funds.

Regarding the PR card, yes, right. They don't have to give it to me, thats an option, and, i guess not their problem. lol i'm fine with it.

thanks lee for your good luck bt what are landing funds?

the amount of money you have to show, to proof financial independence for the first couple of months. amounts vary depending how many dependents you're bringing with you.

oh ok so u mean to say you speak verbally that you have this much amount sitting in your bank by which they can trust that you can survive....

thanks lee once again bt sty in touch

well, there are certain amounts per person you need to have. if i remember right, 1 person would be 10000$ (yes, 5 digits!) and even more if you come with family! If you land for the first time, there's a good chance they ask for proof, if it isn't done during the process already. You have to show them,...certified bankstatements for the last 6 months....etc..cash... People CAN BE the access to Canada denied if there are not enough funds to show and/or the Officer is not satisfied with the amount you claim to be able to support yourself for this time.

Thats interesting as I think the financial proof is usually asked for newcomers and not for pre existing applicants. If you already are working, I am surprised they even asked you. In regard to the travel document, I think you need to apply for it and they just will not give it to you!

The current timeline is 2 months for getting PR Card and it doesnt seem likely you would be going home for christmas then? :(
