I got my CSQ in Nov. 2010; filed my federal application in Dec. 2010; and I submitted my medical results in May 2011. After 22 months of waiting no PPR.
I got my GCMS notes and I realized that my criminality and security checks are not finished yet. the only good thing is that they extended my medical checks to May 2013. so I don't have to pay to do those tests again.

When was your file transferred to Ottawa? Are the last Notes about the file transfer? Whats the last updated date?

- It shouldnt be long as they have started looking at transfer cases. Keep your hopes up, the time to celebrate is coming soon! :)

Do you want me to start again ;D, anyway I hope I will get my ppr and will have a nice xmas party. Also its good to see that their extending the medical for buffalo transfers, otherwise it would be an injustice to us and would have been added another delay. So kind of a good news in this thanksgiving :)

Hi,
i have received a renewed work permit on which they did a typo in my employer name. They have typed IMB instead of IBM.My old permit expires 14th of oct.I talked to CIC and they say i have to submit an application to Ottawa for correction and that it takes 30 days for them to return back with a corrected work permit.Im right now not sure how my employer would react to this.Do i have some way out of this to get a new work permit asap. How long does it take for urgent corrections?
Regarding my PPR of course i have to wait for not sure how much more.

ps, posted this in foreign workers section as well.

Are you close to the border? You could get it corrected there, that would be the fastest way....

Will today be the Tuesday? I'm feeling lucky today! :P

Just a quick reply from MP.

File has been in Ottawa since July. Not assigned to any officer !
It might take 7-12 months!

Not a good news for lucky Tuesdays, but at least I am gonna forget about waiting for now!
Hope you get good news in row...

one good thing about not being assigned is that they tell you extremely Fast... Like super Fast...
:) :)

My timelineL

Category: QSW
Visa office: Buffalo
App rec: May 2011
AOR rec: Nov 2011
Med done: Dec 2011
Xfer to Ottawa CPP: July 2012

My notes says last update July 2012 transfer to Ottawa CPP. medical passed, criminality in process, security and eligibility not started. So it may still take a while I take it?

Just another general question, is it ok to wait for the PPR outside of Canada if I am applying from within Canada?

I asked the same Q, and the reply was yes. it is counted from July... So lets say around Jan-Feb...

I think (not sure) you can wait outside. it does not have anything to do with where you live at this step.

just you might miss the day count for citizenship. Lat say, life is more important than any wait...

:)

i heard the same thing from my mp, she said, it will take a bout a year from july, and now u confirmed it with ur mp. since i live in the USA, i can go back home and wait there, at least it's cheaper to wait there than in the US. so we got 8 more months to wait. u better find a good lasting hobby loll
