You can contact your MP, but sometimes they ask if you are within the processing timeline. One thing you can ask is what is the next due date? Most probably they will tell you 2 things, file in queue or background checks are going on.

I actually contacted them by email. They asked me for details, ans said that they'll get back to me. I am waiting for an email response.
Did you contact the Mp for your region? Are you in montreal by any chance?

I guess you are right about my file not being reviewed.

1. The latest note is about electronic transfer due to closure of regional processing office.
2. There's no date under Application Assignment; the section's blank, so its not probably been assigned.
3. Nothing for group name. What is group name, and does it signify something?
4. The notes were printed on August 10 2012

I think a VO hasnt been assigned to your case.. If the file got transferred on july 7th and its been 2 months it shouldnt be long before they review it. When eligiblity is passed your ecas should go In Process, thats what happened for my case. Wait for October and probably get another GCMS and it should provide more clarity.

1. Just the transfer means nothing has been done at Ottawa about your case
2. Thats when a deadline or a due date is given when to next review it. If Ottawa hasnt looked at your case, therefore, should not have a due date under application assignment
3. Group name signifies just a similar number of cases batched together. Something like PR-FINAL REVIEW.

I am not in Montreal.. Most probably they will tell you your checks are still on going or the file is in process!

Hi Sharuu,
i have a question. when you say that some one's applicaitn is not assigned to any officer or VO does this mean that absolutely nothing is done with the case. I mean no back ground check no security...etc..etc...

This is my understanding of how this works. Everyone has a particular duty which they can do, if not once an officer sees your checks are done he would issue PPR immediately, but I guess he is not authorized. So, one office might be responsible for updating your file like the checks when he updates it, he sends it to another officer who is authorized to see if the file is complete. If it is complete then he forwards it to another officer, who is just entitled to issue PPR. The second VO, is the one putting due dates under App. Assignment.

Yeah. you are correct. as there are thousands of applications they will assign priority applications first and the rest keep in a waiting queue.
One thing I know is that they take min 37 weeks to open a file in their system. they sent me the file number only after contacting them after 37 weeks.

day by day I am loosing interest....

37 weeks, thats how long it took to get AOR? It took me 6 months but nowadays its much faster for 2012 applicants. According to your timeline you have not gotten AOR? So, you applied May 2011, have you done Medicals? Did you try getting GCMS?

I got the file number after 37 weeks that too after contacting many times. and I have not heard from them. sent couple of mails but no useful information. have not done any medicals as I have not got any mail from them
I requested for GCMS and expecting the same with a week or two.

Once you get GCMS, it shuld provide some clarity about your case. So, it has been 16 months of waiting without any medical exam! Did you try contacting your MP? Can you access ECAS?

yes sharuu, i am able to access ECAS. I was able to access my ECAS before receiving my AOR. using my client-id
even with file number I am able to access.
it shows only one line " your application received on 2nd May 2011"

and I contacted local MP recently and they took the details and said they will check the status. hopefully I will hear from them
soon.

Its a good thing you requested GCMS and contacted MP. I hope it helps you out in your case and let me know if you need any advice in future.

Good Luck!

Yeah, i should have done this much earlier..but I was not aware that we can contact MP for such things.
But do these MP help us to move our files ? or just tell us the status of our file?

I contacted the MP before. They did the inquiry on behalf of us. They only provided us the status. I dont think the MP can interfere with our applications.

People have different views, some say they can speed up the application as they might have gotten PPR right after they contacted MP. Well, I dont think they can, the most they can probably do is ask for an update. Then again, GCMS is much more detailed and will tell you exactly whats going on in your case.

I have seen May transferred applicants getting PPR from Ottawa, so I dont expect anything to hear from them before October and November. I think I will wait to ask for another GCMS, I hope people start getting PPR in September so it gives others hopes as well.
