You application was tranferred to Ottawa before they shutted down the buffalo VO, right? I think u should contact them again, don't wait. We all have been waiting long enough.

I contacted Ottawa last time and they said they cant give you a status update. 1 month ago MP told me my file is in transit..

Called call centre this morning and didn't get any useful info other than files are in transit to Buffalo.

So wait til I get another GCMS or contact MP.

Yesterday two of my friends who did their medical in April 2012 got Passport requests from Ottawa to send their passport to Detroit.

Were they 2012 applicants? If so, its not surprising. I am still yet to see those who applied in 2011 and later got transferred to Ottawa issue PPR!

His file got transferred before they announced the close down of Buffalo, and he got PPR in June. Its the same as with 2012 applicants, their file is in Ottawa thats why they are getting PPR before 2011 Applicants. For us, our files are either in transit or just reached Ottawa and will take another 1-2 months to look at. I expect people to start hearing from Ottawa in August and we see people get PPR around that time!

Hey Guys,

I have a question. How can our MP help us with our application?

7 months for the entire process.. Going by the timeline those of you who arent in process, once it gets to IN PROCESS for you it should take 1 month going by that timeline!

Not true!! my case is in process since October 2011, what will you say Sharuu??

Folks,
Every case is unique, you cannot compare one's case to other.. even you cannot compare cases of two real brothers applying at same time, so don't give your self false hopes but being optimistic is not a bad thing :) .. here are the reasons why?

1. Name, last name, country of origin and religon are basis for indentifying whether or not thorough BG checks are needed. (this is very lengthy and time cosuming process throught the application life cycle)
2. Date when you applied, it plays very key role, because its possible CIC has installed new system and/or created new guidlines and rules.
3. Visa Office you sent the file, because some VO's are less busy than others.
4. Your family composition form.

Hope it reduces some misconeption and stress..

cheers

When the case went to In Process, where was your file ? What I have seen just in the case of Ottawa is they usually put IN PROCESS and revisit the case in 1-2 months.

i agree I think its all about BG checks. IF case goes into extended BG checks, no processing timelines apply.

Once it goes into In process, then if you are selected for extended BG checks then it will take 6 months. if not then its quicker...

For all those applicants whose files are currently at Buffalo or in the process of being transferred, lets keep in touch and update each other with our progress !!

HI,
My PR application under the B.C. PNP has been received in Buffalo on February, 2011 and has then been transfered to Los Angeles . On the online Application Status it shows up as "received application on February 4,2011", "started processing on January 12, 2012" and "the Medical Results has been received". On January 19, 2012 i received a request from the Immigration Section,Consulate General of Canada, Los Angeles to send my Police Clearance Certificates. I mailed them and it has been received on February 16, 2012, signed by M. Forcie. At this time, i did not received any other requests or informations by now. I am just wondering if the "normal process' of my application is still in order...?
Especially, cause i lost employment in january 2012, due the closure of the buisness i worked for. I did adviced the PNP and Cig about my change of employment. I never got an answer back from LA, except the request for the police certificates. April 2012, i found a new job under the same conditions and received a recommendation letter from the Pnp for a new work permit. My curent work permit is only valid until october 15, and now i'm just worried, cause i don't hear anything..? It's been 18 months total now....I sended them a email, but no answer yet!
Anybody in a similar situation??
