Thanks a lot buddy... I hope you get your PPR soon!

I have a question. I got my passport request and sent my passport 2 weeks ago. But, my address on e-cas was my old address so, i updated it myself 2 months ago to my new address. So, should i be worried that they might send it to the other address? is there anything i can do to find out what address they will send my passport to?

CIC has launched a new bridging Open Work Permit program, if your work permit is expiring in the next 4 months and have applied for PNP CEC or FSW you can apply for that. You can find this in the latest manual released today on the website.

Hi sharuu, can you share the link please?

Sorry - in short don't know. But the instructions are to include an envelope with return address. Ordinary or pre-paid courier. So if you included such an envelope then that is where the reply will go. If you did not, well I don't know.

For residents of Canada
Standard procedure: The Consulate will return documents to addresses in Canada via U.S. Postal Service First Class Mail (Regular Mail). No tracking system available. Provide a self-addressed envelope. Please note that regular mail to Western and Eastern Canada can take up to three weeks for delivery.

Anyone with more ideas. Best of luck. I guess the reply is in the return post by now. So contact your new and old addresses every couple of days to chase down the package.

Did you include a prepaid envelope? When did your passport reach detroit/windsor and has ecas changed to decision made?

I dont think we can change our address through ECAS - we need to let the VO know about the change and that will eventually reflect on ECAS.

I think this also applies to Quebec-selected workers (QSW)/CSQ holders.

Under "Determining if a Positive Eligibility Decision has been made," you will see that it says

"PNP: the “Eligibility EC-QC/PNP” status has been set to “Passed”"

In the GCMS notes, Eligibility EC-QC refers to QSW.

Hey Sharru,

My passport was received in Seattle on Dec 03.
I did send a prepaid envelope.
I'm going to email them and let them know my current address.
But, i hope its not too late? I just hope my passport doesn't get lost :o(

Your PP will go to the address on the prepaid envelope. IMO, no need to worry.

Operational bulletin 420:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob420.asp

It is LMO exempt, but it doesn't give the right for an open work permit, just a closed one (I think because RAMQ health coverage requires a closed WP). So you have to get a job offer letter first from an employer, which complicates job search.

Question to everyone....

When your medicals expire and cic informs you that they have ASKED for an extension, who have they ASKED? Is it the medical practitioner you went to get your medicals done in the first place, or is it someone else?
