GUys!

My application was sent last march 2012 under category AINP!
Then when i check status online they already received my application for Permanent resident in april!
Follow up by Medical test on May 2012, and MAY same month my medical was done,
just wondering till now i havent yet recieve may PPR? do you any idea guys why it take so long! please help me or any idea why it takes so long to wait! or maybe because the Buffalo office was close? or how many the exactly months to wait!
till now still worrying, only i can do is to pray and be patience.

thanks for the help!

Take it easy and be patient. There are countless people in this forum whose application is spanning way over 20 months with medicals also expired. Ren't u lucky to be just a march 2012 applicant?

It has been 8 months for your file, the new timeline says 11 months, if its earlier than that then thats a bonus. The timeline varies depending on the technicalities of the case, Visa Officer, the queue you are in and your background checks. 2012 applicants have been receiving PPR within months so you should be happy looking at your friends cases as it gives you hope :)

Not a clue, but with MPs stating that its going to take max 1 year to finalise our cases I assume it also applies to us. In short, its now that we all applied to ottawa in july 2012 so should hopefully be done 1 year from then...

OK this is what happened to my GCMS notes :

I called up ATIP today inquiring about what happened to the note I requested on 12th September (which I never received) and also about the one I applied for on 30th October (which I applied for after getting frustrated and annoyed for not getting the first one)

The person who sent my notes of 12th September put an additional "e" to my e-mail address and my notes got sent to a wrong address ! ! The lady I talked to acknowledged the mistake and confirmed that the e-mail address I provided and the address my notes got sent to were different ! !

For the 30th October notes, I sent them the very same form I sent for 12th September, asking them to send me by e-mail. But they "thought" I would like to have the hard copy since I ordered another one so quickly after the first one! So they have sent a CD of my notes by post on 16th November (Haven't received it yet)

This situation has made me a bit worried. What are the odds of their making the same mistake with e-mail address for my PPR e-mail ! ! I do hope they pay attention to what they are writing when they send my PPR e-mail !

When you receive GCMS Notes it mentions your email so you can actually verify the email address. Its a good idea to get GCMS to ensure you didnt miss anything.

Dear All,

Although I haven't got the PPR as yet but I am planning to get the PR visa in person from Detroit once I get the magic email.
I have few questions regarding getting the PR visa in person from Detroit rather
than mailing my PP.

Q. I am a QSW and planning to stay in Montreal but the issue is that when I will travel to
Detroit I am going to use greyhound services. The route which it takes to Montreal to
Detroit is through Toronto's border to US. When I am returning the greyhound will enter
Canada from Toronto...Can I land anywhere in Canada although I am a QSW? If I am allowed
to land anywhere in Canada What issues could I face at the border as I am a QSW?
Last question is not related to Detroit to VO.

Q . Is it possible that I apply for PR card after the landing and travel to my country . I
will ask my friend to mail me the PR card once he receives it. I know that I have to apply
for the PR from within CA and I cant come back without the PR card.

Last request that I have can someone please post the actual PPR letter for Detroit VO.

You can remove your personal details. It would really help us all what to expect once we
get the magic letter.

Waiting anxiously for your replies.
hi there,

yes, you can land anywhere you want, but it is highly recommend to have an address in Montreal (or Quebec province) to show your intentions at the POE, since you are under QSW. If you don't have an address here, you might have to answer some questions. :)

The PR card will be automatically applied for at your landing process, since they ask you for an address. If you don't have an address in Canada, you can apply after, yes, as long as it is in Canada, preferably in Quebec of course. :)

The PPR letter is something special in a "sentimental" way, but nothing if it comes to the writing/text. :) File number, name, and the request. 2 more pages of reading material. :)

hope it helps :)

Hey, I was going through my very first GCMS notes I got in July, I dont see my e-mail address there. I have checked the immigration application I sent (I have kept photocopies of everything) I have my e-mail address there, and it is correct one. But how can you check e-mail address in GCMS notes?

Hi yasmin01, could you pls post the contact number you have used to call ATIP. Thanks
It's 18006676703, you can leave a message if they dont pick up, they will call you back. I first called and left a message last week, they called me back today. I missed their call but called them back immediately (it was not a 1800 number). The lady I talked to said she will arrange to e-mail me both my GCMS note again, though the cd is on its way

Ok I have few more questions for you.
I went to the CIC website and I think there are conflicting statements overthere regarding the processing times for PR card or maybe I have not understood it correctly.

In the first link it clearly says that if PR card is applied at the time of landing then the processing time is 4 to 6 weeks .

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=001&t=10

However, in another link the processing times for the PR card is different it shows 63 days. I am guessing it is for the one when you file an application for PR card after landing but it says that (This time applies if you have provided a mailing address) so kinda confused about this.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp

So which of these links to follow? Did you ask the VO at the POE how long will it take to get the card?

Showing a ticket to montreal, giving address in Brossard and showing some amount in my bank account.Would that be seen as valid intentions to stay in Quebec at the POE. My current employer is not going to renew the contract as my company is closing down. I am not sure whether I will have a job at the time of landing. I have an open work permit so I am looking for other opportunities but who knows abt the future. Also I do not have a lease with anyone. I am just sharing an apartment with someone.

One more thing what if I apply for the PR card and leave the country and ask my friend to send me the PR card through mail once he receives it. Can this be done?

yeah, i'm aware of this. where i did my landing, the officer said to me 4-6 weeks for the Card, and i "applied" right there. But as much as i've seen here in the forum, it stays at 63 days,..some people even waited longer than that. i guess mine will arrive mid january.

Yes, your friend can send it to you. just be aware, choose a fast delivery service, and that might be (very) expensive, you don't want to have this card outthere for too long, the longer its outthere, the higher the chances are it might get "lost". i told my friend to send it to me via FedEx, which will cost me about 85$!

A ticket with final destination Montreal, Brossard address (and the money) are fine. doesn't matter whether you share it with somebody or not. its an address. :)

I think for 2011 applicants the delay could be due to 2 things:
1. Delay in extending the medical test validity
CPP-O will refer the medical files to the medical board. After the board reviews and recommends then only CPP-O can extend. But the process itself will consume time.
2. Priority to 2012 applicants
CPP-O now will not create a similar situation where the medical tests validity of 2012 applicant expire and need extension. They will process the files well before the expiry. This is particularly even more justified when CPP-O has decided to extend the medical validity of 2011 applicants. This means they have time to process 2011 applications.

This is just my opinion.
