BUFFALO APPLICANTS - File transferred to other VO due to Buffalo closing down

I have another question, would it make any sense if i closed my pnp file and got my husband to sponser me since he is a canadian citizen. Or is it better just to wait? Been waiting 17 months now.

You dont have to drop off pnp, you can applied sponsorship at the same time if you dont mind about money. Which one comes first, you can decide to drop another one. I have been waiting for 18 months and thinking to do the same thing...

Hello Everyone, my application was received on 10/27/2011 but status still shows as following in e-cas.

We received your application for permanent residence on October 27, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

Should I be concerned that it's going to be almost a year and still does not show status as "in process" even though cases from Jan - May of 2012 have been approved and processed. I am a Naturalized U.S. Citizen living in California and I was born in India and my wife is a Canadian citizen. CIC has stated on numerous emails that they don't need anything from us but that they have a large number of files that they are working thru. Any advice or suggestions, would be very much appreciated.

Hi gowest, thanks for your nice post. Could you pls attach the link, so we can read the article. Also I have renewed my passport. Not sure if I should inform them or rather wait 2 more months to avoid any delays on my file. thanks

I renewed my passport in Aug this year. I sent them a scanned copy by email. The acknowledgement email came after nearly a month. My GCMS notes is also updated with my new passport details.

I dont agree with you on this .It doesnt say anywhere that file goes in queue according to the lock-in date.........See the link below. Check section 5.24

Lets be honest nobody knows the procedure. And this point only god knows when we will get our PPRs.
Some of us have been lucky to get their PPRs early but most of us have suffered due to CPP-O incompetence.

Mine is also the same , and i am in the 20th month after being received
You should not be worried about it,
I have heard many cases not having any change in their e-cas through the entire process.

if you want more detail on your file, you better order a GSCM note (page 16 of this thread)

but dont worry about e-cas. its just nothing

What I conclude from these talks, is that:

They have not finished with the process of putting Buffalo files in order.
And that sounds right to me. Because mine is not yet assigned to any officer, but for some people it has been assigned.

I think once they are sure everything is in place, they would start issuing visa. unless they want to treat Buffalo different (the minister has superior decision on immigration case in Canada) and he can change it as he wants.

No, I just sent scanned pdfs to them. If possible try to send it by FAX. You can paste the Bar Code sticker to make it look authentic. But you have proof of my case that email works as well.

I am very surprised as I thought CIC had a better system in place and after buffalo closed, it's just been no information being passed to the applicants.

I think it would take time for any new system to run smooth.

You can either go with electronic option or the traditional paper one.
its a single sheet of paper, filled, signed and to be sent to the addresses (email or mail) that is at the bottom of the page.

They are people with longer and shorter waits.
But the case of not being updated has been seen a lot.

at some cases, all changes are made to it at the day of making the final descision.
honestly, I don't know why they have even made it if not working!

So friends, October has almost gone by. I can't hope for myself (which actually would be unjustified) when I know there are many 2011 applicants are waiting for about 20 months. I know people will advise (albeit redundantly and much to my exasperation) to wait. But that's no advice as such. Because, somebody advises or not, I will wait as that's the only option for me anyway.

Days and weeks are passing by and no signs of PPR. I am wondering what CPP-O is indeed doing. Just sorting the Buffalo files for the last 3 months or so! If it is true then their effort can be best described as ludicrous. Now, somebody will say, it will be November when we can actually hope for some PPR.

And the eternal wait and the perpetual hope continue.....
