sharuu did ottowacontact you and tell you they will extend your medicals..? or did you atleast contact them

No.. Ottawa didnt contact me. It was in their operations manual, that if expiry of medicals is the only reason of not issuing the PPR, they would issue extension of medicals by 3 months!

I believe at a certain point everyone will have their medicals expired!

Did you contact Ottawa yet? The problem is July transfers havent started getting PPR so we dont know when should we expect anything. I do know that we might see getting extension of 3 months after our medicals expire. So, if you did your medicals in September, hopefully, should hear something before year end!

Sharuu, if I understood the following link adequately, the 3 months already put into consideration -1. When the final decision of an officer is pending due only to the expiration of a medical certificate or when the validity of the medical certificate is about to expire and the applicant is unable to land before it expires.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob423.asp

For in-Canada and overseas cases with an IME done within the last 15 months: (when meet the above criterion) new medical certificate will be issued and will be valid for a 12 month period starting from the date of the new medical assessment.

My point is they don't have to ask for 3 months extension, rather they have to extend it for 12 months it the file is already been processed and medical is expired by then (within 15 months of their medical).

If you are saying we shouldnt get GCMS Notes, because it leaves a mark on the file.. I disagree. It doesnt have a negative impact on your file!

Thats whats written in the manual, it depends on the visa officer in the end. I am just going by actual cases where the medicals have been extended by 3 months. I think In Canada applicants, wouldnt need another year to get their files finalised. 3 months should be more than enough to finalise their case!

no, no...thats not what i meant.... i meant the "CAIPS notes are like a scar that never heals and will likely remain in your file for the rest of your life and beyond"- part....

i can't imagine anyway that CAIPS notes have an impact on our files...its just a computer print out... :)

I think what this means is a new medical exam is done. A new medical assessment means a new medical exam - remember we are not doing that. If we do that, its valid for 12 more months! But, we are just extending our deadline and which lasts for 3 months apparently!

Actually, it shows 2 places on your GCMS - Incoming and Client Details. Its just a print out and it does to the ATP department and not the immigration department anyways!

Sending in RPRF .. would this help the case or no really?

mh....i don't think it'll help much if you applied outside Canada, as much as i read here already, the meds are coming at last, with the PPR, and there have to pay the RPRF, am i right? so, they contact you anyway for the meds and ppr.... which isn't done that fast...same time they cash in the money,...until then the meds are received.....

i think it helps if you applied inland...then the only thing left at last is the ppr... and if they have to cash in the money then...i might take longer than a week, i guess they're only starting to work if they really have cashed in the money...

what's your opinion?

Hi Guys, I need your help. My passport will expire in next April 2013. Its a hand written passport, most likely I can not renew it. I have to get the new machine readable passport instructed by our Embassy. I was wondering should I wait few more months, then get the new passport. Also will this add any further delay to my file processing?

If any one got a new passport, could you please outline the details (ex. how to update Ottawa, pros and cons, what should be put into consideration for PR processing while doing that etc). Thanks

Hi Fellows, any suggestion/thought on this post? Thanks

I am an Inland Applicant actually, but they always do request RPRF anyways. I was hoping it might trigger them in some way!

April 2013 is ways away.. I would actually wait as I think your PPR should be done with before year end. If you do renew it, you need to update your file details which might delay the processing of your file actually!
