BUFFALO APPLICANTS - File transferred to other VO due to Buffalo closing down

GOOD NEWS ;D for me mostly and for other 2011 applicants!

I got my Passport Request today, asking me to send our passports to Detroit.

Here's my timeline if you are interested:

CSQ Issued: May 2011
Application sent to Federal: September 2011
Medicals done: Feb 2012
PPR: September 2012

ECAS:
- We received your application on Sep 10, 2011.
- We started processing your application on May 2, 2012
- Medicals results received.

ECAS has been showing this since May, my address was shown since July I guess. It's still the same.

I sent them an email two weeks ago (for the first time) asking about the status of my application, got a generic reply in a week, maybe that triggered something, I don't know!

You'll get it sooner or later, just don't think about it too much and try not to schedule your life based on it if possible

Forget about ECAS, it's totally unreliable IMHO. Just email them if you didn't hear from them by January or something

Hello Syed, any news from Ottawa? your file is also in Bg Checks right? did they have started BG checks on your file?

No news from them. I got my GCMS notes recently and my Criminality check in in process. and notes also says that they sent me medical last November and till now I have not received or mostly the email gone missing.. I sent them an email to resend the forms...waiting for their reply...

will wait for few more days and planning to send them a registered letter...

Do you have any idea how long BG checks takes, my last GCMS says they have started additional BG Checks and my MP's assistant says they have sent to Pakistan.. any ideas how long it takes from Pakistan?

No, I have not idea about Pakistan checks. I do not understand why they watned additional checks? have you not given police verification from Pakistan?
I am from India and mine is also taking long time..that means it is not Pakistan or India...it is the name tag we carry causing the trouble.....well...whom we can blame for that ?

I already provided the police clearance certificates, they don't tell us why they sent us... all they say its random!!

it is strange you are under PNP..and your application should be in priority. I see people who applied in 2012 got their passport request...

I know man, Buffalo screwd us all.. the files coming to Ottawa thrug CIO Sidney are in top priority regardless when they applied..

Thanks. btw, I'm not allowed to send messages directly, I'm from middle east but I highly doubt that has anything to do with this... my understanding is that it's almost impossible to figure out what affects your application, but people with similar timeline as yours getting PPR is the best sign to look for
