- Towards the end of each page it says 'Date generated: 2012-08-08'
- It says the due date is 2012-08-19. Don't know why I haven't heard from them yet.
- The notes were written on July 20th, exactly the date when my application went 'in process'

the wait is quite depressing... I have friends who applied 6 months after me and have already received their PR cards!

They reviewed your case on July 20th and gave you 1 month for the due date August 19th. Now, either they have not reviewed your file or the checks havent been completed. In either case, you can only wait at this point. You can try requesting another GCMS if you dont hear something in September.

During the last couple of months the word 'wait' has taken a totally different meaning in my dictionary. I could probably write a few books on it .

I have been waiting for 18 months now, still check email 20 times daily There is nothing else that can be done. It shouldnt be much longer, I hope its in 2012 ;D

it is not written there, yes, but you can do it! At least extend the permit, and if you have a new one, you can even get one at the border, doing the flagpoling. You can send it via Paper Mail,(slow), or Online (possibly 2-3weeks) , or at the POE (border) about 30min. I did extend my WP end of july. I took all the necessary docs with me, 150$ in cash....a friend drove me to Bernard Lacolle Crossing (30min from Montreal) and that was it. A WP extension done at the border at jaw-dropping speeds compared to paper application. If you want, have a look for another forum member here called "Beakster", he was actually helping me out a lot with this!

I'm not sure about one more option (gossip!) that you could take an appointment in Montreal at Rue St. Antoine Immigration to get it done, but the appointments can take a while, 4-6 weeks later. But this is NOT confirmed! BUT it is confirmed to get your Permanent Residency (Landing) done there !! Again, Appointment 4-6 weeks, depending on workload over there.

syed, one thing to note here is that is only applicable for Visa Exempt applicants to go the border and get a permit on the spot.

I have been waiting for about 17 months. Beginning the Federal journey, I had my app package lost in Canada post for 1 month. No one had a single clue where it might be. But at the end, it reached Buffalo.

Since then, Meds in Sept. and nothing else. I had to extend my current permits, and I hope this one was the last one.

30 calender days...pls refer to page 16 in this thread to know what you need to fill up. What is your ECAS status?

After the transfer, my mailing address started showing up again. GCMS notes will tell you in details for sure.

Guys I have question . This may sound stupid but I am really confused about it.

I was reading somewhere in the forums that there are separate checks for

crimnality and security. I thought they are one in the same but then I saw

that one of the PR applicant's crimnality was passed but the security was still under

process . So my question is what is the difference between crimnality and security

checks?

Guys I am a May 2011 Applicant, Meds done in september and ECAS changed to 'In Process' in July.

Just got my GCMS notes with the following information:

Primary VO: CPP Ottawa
Secondary VO: Detriot
File transferred from Buffalo to CPP Ottawa: May 16th, 2012
Criminality: Passed
Eligibility: Passed
Medicals: Passed
RCMP: NRT

The notes section at the end says that meds will expire september 22nd, 2012 and extension may be required after background check is complete.
Seems like security check is still in process.

What do you guys think? How much longer till PPR???

They have assigned your Secondary VO to Detroit, you shouldn't be waiting long. Hey Sharuu, whats your secondary VO in your latest GCMS?

Thanks for your information. Can you please tell me a bit more about work permit extension? My work permit already expired @ April 2012. I am currently on student visa. I have a CSQ and a post-graduation degree from Quebec. I am waiting for PR. Now If I have job offer from a company at Quebec what can I do to extend my work permit. Do I need to apply for CAQ? How many days it takes to process the work permit @Border "Bernard Lacolle".
